I respect your knowledge and the professional manner in which you express yourself on your videos. Even though I am retired I am starting to do woodworking as a hobby and you have been very helpful to me!

Is the starter pin just for routing irregular shapes or is it just preference?

@hedorah99 You can use it for all sorts of shapes. It works for straight or curved shapes.
