funny how some things in production never change, just the technology. I figured Bonobo was getting most of his sound by sampling, just as much as DJ Shadow was. Only difference here is Shadow did it on an MPC60 and Bonobo Logic.
@columthealmighty I know I go there allot. Wouldnt you say that the quality is questionable there?
See I have this fear that as a relative noob, my ear may not be able to pick up on lacks in quality. Is there a way for me to some how determine the quality level of those samples?
@aristurtle1 well if you disregard anything that is in mp3 format, and only go for .wav or .aiff then you’re on the right track.
i use it if i need specific sounds for tracks, like the other day i needed the sound of a jungle so i searched and found what i needed.
really just listen and if it sounds good to you then it’s perfect, it’s your music after all. there is no reference point for quality, as long as it’s not distorted/clipping then it’ll be okay.

@aidanvickery speakers are defo focal. I never saw that kind of focal but thats not unexplainable. Focal only make pure studiomaterial so you won't find them randomly in a store. I have a pair of focals (cheaper than those) and i simply love them. Its not really that accurate on the lower levels but it are the best ive found for my ears.
@aidanvickery They look like B&W brand. Bowers and Wilkins. Which is I guess a good choice of monitor selection as they seem to make high quality speakers...
whats that eq at 2:03 ? it looks like a logic copy and if it is my dream as come true :)

can someone recommend a good breakpack with actual recorded (not electronic) drum breaks like Bonobo uses in most of his stuff?
