I have Avast on my Win7 partition, and ubuntu on my other partition, both on the same HDD but no anti virus for my ubuntu partition, could my Win7 partition still get infected if I don't go into windows for a long while? (meaning avast wouldn't be running)
i hate avg. i have fedora 13 and i just installed avg linux edition. and my pc crashed so hard that i cant even open a program.please help me. someone help me. ps! i used my moms pc to write this
@djb0110 its not useless some people use Linux and Windows, i wouldnt want to downlaod something in linux and move it to windows and then get a virus...... better safe then sorry
I've been disappointed with AVG. My wife uses it on her machine and recently got hit hard with a virus. She got the virus when she updated AVG (she's running Win 7, I'm using Ubuntu 10.10). If only Linux could run Microsoft Security Essentials. It's free to use and I would recommend that for anyone using windows.

@djb0110 AVAST now offers a scanner. I have a site that has a bunch of Linux AV solutions. But YT will not me post it
