This is the first time I have heard this new guy. He is amazingly close to Steve Perry but doesn't quite have SP's laser like high notes and he is struggling a bit to hit the low notes. Plus the way he is singing, he is going to blow out his vocal cords.

I'm not a Journey fan but I give him all the credit in the world, it's not easy stepping into famous shoes.

Hmm, well that's good to know. I never heard of him till he joined Journey so was not aware of his back ground. Plus in all do respect I'm listening to him on YouTube, not the best fidelity.

I'm a singer so it's not like I'm just talking off the top of my head about my concern for his voice though.

hi SotR59,i don't know if i read it right in an article that Arnel also,almost lost his voice due to bad vices he had in the past whilst working in hongkong,and he learned his lesson then when the doctor told him that there's a possibility he will lost his voice..his voice is much,much more better before than now....the last time i saw him is 15 yrs ago..when im still in the philippines before..i saw him again last june 08 in london.....the only thing that i admired Arnel is very humble....

Safety issues - does anybody care? I do - safety issues IMHO, on this segment does not at all diminish the grps overall 10-star xcellent performance.The ff: maybe unnecessary

At 1:07-backstepping too far on the edge; before 2:54-standing on a limited platform space for D piano only; at3:23 jumping over the monitor. Vet. performers shld point this out to AP to avoid any unexpected injuries and unfavorable publicity. In Dont Stop Believing seg. towards the end "Hold on to the (piano) feelin".
