Read some of the other comments first man. This isn't a drag race, or a contest to see how fast he can get to the end of the course. This is all about top end. They don't launch like drag cars out on the salt. In fact, lots of the cars even have push starts off of the starting line. Does that mean they are slow too? No.

FWIW, the car did over 200mph on salt and it's bumpy and not easy to drive on. Start slow, but there's nothing slow about the top end of the track.

The car is capable of well over 250 mph. The driver keeps losing control though so it hasn't realized it yet.

The ZR1 wouldn't hit that 200mph mark on the salt surface. If you have the time, look at what goes into making a successful salt flat car. 0-60 and 1/4 mile times mean nothing in this racing. In fact, the tires on this Enzo are maybe 7 inches wide. That is much smaller than stock but It has purpose. Bigger tires mean more drag on the top end but you compromise the launch.

146mph, 176mph and then the best run of the day was 188mph timed between the 2-3 mile markers before it spun out on the track testing some aerodynamic adjustments. All runs were done on the short course.

SOMEONE gets it. Nobody takes off fast at the salt flats and the video really is just about seeing and hearing the car. In order to get it actually moving fast, I would have had to be 3 miles down the track but I wouldn't have been able to be anywhere near as close as I was here.

@luimarco Got your point but hey, you only live 1 time and there are plenty of other enzo's around the world standing still and doing nothing but eating dust and behave like the queen of england. These guys are actually doing something with this car and why not add some turbo's and such? Ferrari can't match Bugatti or Koenigsegg with a stock model so i would love to see more of this car.

@Tha0men well bro, the enzo's V12 have a very high Compression Already and adding just 3 PSI or even less will kill the Engine rather quickly, plus the internals are not made for that. it will Die up after few 100 miles just like all the Boosted Lambo's around

@luimarco The car is turbocharged, and has been in the workshop for about 2 years IIRC. It was written off in a crash and the owner decided to rebuild it and twin turbo charge it....

Personally I would have send the engine to Edo performance and get them to do the FXX conversion if I wanted more power.

@bkvj Edo performance couldnt have worked on the engine. before the owner could rebuild the enzo Ferrari said that the engine would have to be rebuilt by a specialist. he is the only person who knows this engine inside and out.

Salt flat racing is a ton different than drag racing in that they are often told not to launch hard off of the line. If they did they would tear up the salt and spin all over the place without going anywhere. Besides, I took other pics of this car and once you see the size of the rear tires, you wouldn't want to nail it off the line either. Salt flat tires are super skinny!
