  • can you tell me what motor its come with stock its a 12a rotary right or no?

  • My fc has been pretty reliable apart from switches going out and a bad mop connector. I do not drive it nice either. I redline her pretty much every time I drive her.

  • I heard these motors are like Harleys , good and fast , but they are hard to keep running , like they aren't good for your only car , i want an FC like this , but it would be my only car , to drive back and fourth to work , is this a bad idea?

  • @YouRk0ed11 just take good car of it, add oil when needed and change oil when needed and it will be fine for a daily driver, just dont get it ported like the one in the vid if you want to have full rotary reliability, they are more fun for the sports factor but arnt the best thing for long term reliability

    Yeah, it's a bad idea. Do what I did and buy a stock N/A and fully restore it (maybe do exhaust and intake mods) then buy a second RX-7 such as a Turbo II and pimp that shit up with all the performance mods you can imagine and take it out every Friday night. Also, don't let your friends or your dad work on your RX-7. They will likely fuck it up. My dad fucked up my clutch and my coolant seals and have to get my engine rebuilt next year.

  • wow its a turbo 2 and its ready to die its not ported and u can tell because the idle keeps changing so u know his foot and the pedal make it sound like its bp and there is a fence near so it sounds louder than it realy it and i know this cause i own a 90 t2 ported

  • this may or may not be a stupid question but on a half bridgeport, only the secondary ports are bridgeported right? so then are the primaries ported at all or are they just left how it is? or even for a streetport, are all the ports ported or just the secondaries?

  • Dude that is so nice. its one if the better sounding RX's that I've heard. I would love to get a second gen RX-7 if I could find one in good shape. most of the second gens are all beat up and riced out.

  • I'm 100% positive it's an S4 with painted molding and S5 tails. The moldings and the rear bumper give it away. The S5 moldings are thicker and are designed slightly different, and the S5 bumper has an extra 'lip' at the bottom. This is an S4.

  • man theres no way to tell what year that is from just lookin at it from the out side. there not stock rims and the tail lights and mirrors point to a s5...

  • actualy its an s5 you can tell by the rear tail light

  • S5 tails swap directly into place of S4 taillights. And the molding are pinted, yes, but they are clearly S4, the S5 moldings are thicker. You can also tell from the shape of the reap bumper.

  • Well that means nothing. Mines a S4 with s5 tail lights RE amemiya mirrors and a couple of other changes, so you just can't tell what year it is.

    as opposed to the s4 in which the seat belt is already within the fixed position

  • howd you get it to sound like that at idle? that sounds sick as shit. i have an 88GXE with a 3" allthe way back into a magnaflow.. no cats either and it idles smooth...its also n/a

  • Yeah an aggressive port, such as a large street port or a bridge port will cause it to idle that way.

    and stickysilverbird, you are losing power with a 3" exhaust on an N/A, you should go no bigger than 2.5"

  • I have a sexy lookin rx-7 with body kit, chrome wheels, lowered, and some more, but no engine work. What should i do first? its an 86FC3S, with just cold air in-take as of now. What should i do to make it fast, while not spending too much right off the bat.

  • of course get an exhaust, for the purpose of annoying neighbors (make sure no cats for extra points).get it ported, i hear BDC does it real good. if its NA do a TII swap. then crank boost (poor apex seals...), prepare for rebuild, rebuild, repeat.

  • You only have to keep rebuilding if you dont tune it right. even the 2mm apex seals will hold plenty of boost as long as its tuned right, any hint of detonation and byebye seals.

  • Whats the 2mm and 3mm apex seals applications for? I have a turbo II but don't know what seals to get...

  • I believe the turbo 2 runs 3mm apex seals. If you need info on what stuff to use for the motor your building, contact racing beat, mazdatrix or atkins rotary. Ive done business with all three of these companies, they can help you out.

  • The Turbo 2 uses 2mm seals, so did the NA versions of that era. The only reason to run 3mm seals would be if the grooves too worn for 2mm seals...

  • Halfbridge is when the secondaries ports have the bridge cut and the primeries are left with a big streetport which makes it a halfbridge port.....lol i should know this is my car!!

  • There aint no such thing as a half bridge, it is either a bridgeport or J port....

  • yea, the brideport does that, sometimes if you tune street or raceports certain ways you can get them to sound like that.
