That doesn't even make sense... Do you know anything about her? She is one of the most equality-driven, equal rights for all people I've ever met. And the fact that she is forgoing a state-marriage for a commitment ceremony is showing her support to the homosexual community, and protest against Prop 8. MsBush72... you're insane.
Actually, Pauley *has* announced to her friends and family that because of the inequality Prop 8 presents Californians, they are no longer going to have a ceremony "for the state"-- in other words, her fiance and she have opted to have a commitment ceremony in lieu of a traditional marriage.
In layman's terms? The duo decided they will not partake of a luxury that's been denied their queer friends/family.
Can't say I know many other couples that would do the same, honestly...
