I don't care if they were first, I still absolutely hate Daimler for what they did to Chrysler. They took a company that was one of the fastest-rising in the industry and becoming a leader in small cars (which is where the market needed to head) and budget-cut it into a joke. They even took the 3rd-Generation Viper platform and called it the SLS, while cancelling the world-shaking supercar that the Chrysler brand was planning. To hell with Daimler, Mercedes, and even Dr. Fucking Z.

@JETZcorphey get it straight ur facts are wrong, i own a mercedes s600 and ml320 i am a mercedes fanboy but the sls was built off the sl class which is the slr and chrysler had full control of what products they were making mercedes funded them.. thats why theres still a owner to the brand, not under 1 name.. Think of it this why if you put in billions of dollars and you perposly make the company downfall, wheres the sense in that..

@mankaman3 True, Chrysler did get some good platforms from the M and E class. However, the main thing that killed it was the attitude of the new management. The supposed "merger of equals" as it was originally referred to, turned out to be a straight-up takeover. By 2000, they admitted as much. Also in the year 2000, product investment for Chrysler Group got cut from $48B down to $36B. Successful programs were ended, talented personnel left, interior quality was degraded, reliability sank.

@JETZcorp now they are the number 1 in quality for 2-3 years beating bmw which had taken it for 1995-2006.. mercedes had said to put more money in chrysler in 2008 then shortly after the economy went the wrong direction as then lost hope of chrysler and sold i think around 1/4 of the company.. but as mercedes had promised the company is become more quality than pricey

@JETZcorp They did take quality under you are right about that, so did mercedes as you can see 1995-2002 was all bad looking-cheaply made cars they were making a few billions in profit and after that promised to be a better car manufacture in 2004 and since then around 2006 mercedes steped up the quality and lost more profit in their cars..

If the next 100 years looks like the last 15 years, I'll just as well pass. I just can't get past the shit they pulled on Chrysler. The more I learn about it, the more I hate MB. The moment Daimler said no to the ME-412, a car that was just superior to the AMG McLaren SLR, was the moment Chrysler needed out of that relationship. The SLS? Just more proof Daimler had not intention of being Chrysler's partner. They just wanted to use and plunder a more talented, but vulnerable, company.
