Prosecutors and/or police who hide or destroy exculpatory evidence, or who manufacture evidence, or who tamper in any way with evidence, should automatically be conviceted and sentenced to the maximum penalty they tried to get for the innocent victim whose life they destroyed! This will never happen, but it should, because then justice would actually be served.
the government should offer them average jobs when they are released, that is the least they could do, there should be some compensations also depending how many years they were in prison also, that is just unfair
I think it's time for the state to implement something like a "falsely imprisoned protection program." Something comparable to the witness protection program. They are responsible for stealing these people's lives, they must be held responsible for creating a new life for them. Erase the records and provide a history for them to use when the get back to normal life, so there will be no black hole.
i would like to start an innocence project in my state...seeking a starting point

I wonder how many people are falsely imprisoned.

There should be a higher number of incorrectly exonerated guilty people to balance out all those falsely imprisoned.
