@J90JAM if it's only one person since 1980 that's pretty good going. you get the odd one or two who die because of heart problems etc, nothing to-do with safety usually.

@J90JAM no-one has ever died on the corkscrew and DEFINITELY didn't fall out of a car - which in its-self is a ridiculous suggestion given that UK health & safety would have shut the ride down. The last major incident involving the general public was the run-away mine train when the power cut & the trains split causing them to collide, hurting a few.. plus a girl who broke both her wrists on rita because she had her arms in the air & on nemesis because some-one threw a coin at a passing train.

@J90JAM i checked the alton towers news history and it didn't mention that at all.

It did mention about the runaway mine ride being faulty and several people where injured.

@J90JAM It just got too old, too expensive to maintain and wasn't as "exciting" as the newer coasters.

went on corkscrew on its last day, very sad went with my dad, he went on it when it 1st opened he was one of the 1st to ride, now one of the last =( R.I.P Corkscrew u hurt my neck but i still love u!
