Nice solid sound! This mono mix is much better than the stereo mixes that are included on all the CD compilations. I once had a 45 of this song and the mix on the 45 was very similar to this mix. The stereo version is one of those early 60's stereo mixes in which all the instruments come out of the left speaker and all the vocals come out of the right speaker. That sounds very unbalanced and unnatural to me, and the limitations of the simplistic 1950's instruments are emphasized too much.
