  • Terra will be a throne, not a santuary.

  • The Clanners will never be destroy!

  • @TangFiend1 I guess that is where we will have to agree to disagree. Not that it matters very much in the grand scheme of things or fight about ^^

  • @harkeill not even close. Tukayyid was then end of the invasions.(At least the WW2 styled invasions.)

  • "We will defend it to our deaths. Let the next verse begin..."

    Epic...

Epic doesn't even fucking describe it!

  • idk why but for some reason clan wolf always reminded me of the klingons, and jade falcon always reminded me of the romulans.

  • @orkkilla5589 it only sucks because we made the decision to make it so, because our egos cause us to want to be better than everybody else in the world, and so our race competes with itself instead of working together to expand and survive as a whole, all the same race but the individual having his or her own perception of life.

  • In battletech universe - EARTH IS THE GARDEN OF EDEN

    IRL - EARTH SUCKS

  • @orkkilla5589 heavy research went into terraforming once space travel was achieved, and through that, new science was developed purify earths air and ecosystem. the creation of fusion reactor mass production meant there was no more burning of fossil fuels and no more harmful emissions, even from factories and power plants.

  • watch?v=RgojYKuYrd4

    Startup sound for cars (MW2)

  • Clan wolf for the win!!!

  • clan wolf will always be my favorite

  • One thing I admit I didn't know until now was that the creation of Clan Wolf-in-Exile was actually something planned by Khan Ulric Kerensky to ensure the Warden Wolves' survival. Basically the plan was to have Phelan Kell take the Wardens to safe haven in the Inner Sphere while Ulric, a staunch Warden himself, took all the Crusaders with him to face the Jade Falcons in mutual annihilation. Unfortunately, the Crusader Wolves eventually reformed with Vlad Ward, a staunch Crusader as their Khan.

  • @KarlShota Traitors to the Clan way of life. The Conquest of the Inner Sphere is the only viable outcome. The clans truth strength lies in unity, not civil war. The Wolves were great and powerful, made weak by the schism and the the Great Trial of Refusal with the Falcons.

  • well well i'm alwayys kinda confused about these vids

whether jade falcon ending or wolf ending...

The game itself is about the refusal war between both clans, and no clan got to earth.

the wolfes led by Phelan Ward went into exile on arc royal, and the jade falcon founded clan jade falcon with the survivors of the battle of Wotan...

With (now) Vlad Ward as their new Khan...

so where the hell does earth come from? ;)

ok ok -that's the main goal they want to go to... but it's not IG

  • @JheakrynaKyAlur Its about the purpose of the Refusal War which was the right to invade Earth. Warden clans believe their purpose was to protect the inner sphere while Crusader Clans believe their purpose was to come back and dominate the inner sphere.

  • @best360gamer

They actually had a proxy battle with com-star on the moon, for the fate of earth itself. The clans lost, mainly because com-star cheated and blew up a bridge.

  • @silvercat18 It's not Wolf's fault Ghost Bear, Jade Falcon, Steel Viper failed to do their part. Wolf achieved their part of the plan and was smarter than those other clans.

  • @best360gamer

the honor of the warden way.

  • @best360gamer they are smoking cigarettes

  • @best360gamer

They are waiting for there dropship to take them to Terra.

  • This is not canon btw.

  • hopefully after the mechwarrior reboot works out I am hoping that the following gets addressed in the future. The Clans, the FedCom Civil war, or better yet the jilhad which I believe was recently wrapped up. And if there is a god finaly a battletech/mechwarrior MMO which should have been released years ago.

  • id like to see clan wolfs story continued to bad them robo tec bastards keep suing who ever tries to make another mech warrior game

  • @evaunit143 They can make Mechwarrior games... if they avoid using Mechs (roughly a dozen of them) called Unseen; which Harmony Gold (the guys who created Robotech) defends like a rabid dog.

  • @Significantpower im aware of harmony gold there the ones who damned MW5 with lawsuits because they cant let go of the fact that MW was far more successful than robo tech..... none the less i think they should have used a marauder instead of a war hammer or at least some mech that doesn't resemble one of there's

  • @evaunit143 I'm with you on that last part. When I saw the trailer I thought "Guys... WHY did you open up THAT can of worms?!".

  • @evaunit143 You do realize that the Marauder is ALSO one of the Unseen, right?

  • @B5RobMan no i did not thank you for pointing that out though

  • Let the next verse begin... in a new Mechwarrior game! Hope it's good.

  • I wish they'd stick to the cannon when it came to things like this. Clan Wolf in Exile never went anywhere near Earth...tsk...

  • @ScreamingTc If you are referring to the reflection of the planet on the 'mech, that's NOT terra, you dumb fuck. It can be taken as a representation of the dreams and goals of all the Clans OR it can simply be another earth-like planet in the Clan's PATH to terra.

  • @Gallowell Does calling someone a dumb fuck really make you feel the man? No, seriously, I really want to know if it makes your point any more valid then any other person's post on here. I'll be strapping myself in, waiting for the intellectual rollercoaster that will be your response.

  • This is most epic that of jade falcon and i will fight for clan wolf till the end....ALL HAIL CLAN WOLF AND GEN.KERENSKY!!!!!!!!!

  • i thought it wuz called mechassult >_>

  • @SidouDays mechassalt is the game where you play as a foot solder rather than a mech'warrior

  • @blisterbeetle01 in the first mechassult you cant get out of you mech but in the 2nd you can

  • @micksquizzy mechassault was horrible, and I believe their is a part in the first one where you arnt in a mech.

  • @VonDelacroix That is when you are in the Elemental.

  • filthy Clan Surats! ;D

  • wow it is that new fangled three deminsinol!!!

  • LMAO remember that time Wizkids made that Mechwarrior dark age? Nobody purchased it barely at all and its not even regarded by Battletech fans as canon

    Awe man what a joke

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

  • If you're talking about the Palace Complex mission, yeah I beat it. You had to find the shield generator somewhere on the outskirts of the map. Inspect the palace complex and then destroy it.

  • Someone remember last mission with clan Wolf? I played it long time ago but never finnish it. Didnt know how..

  • Hosting A CLAN

    add PSN Noobynarbb

For tryouts i dont expect much but do expect a bit

  • clan wolf ftw!

  • terra...is earth?

  • @blisterbeetle01

In sci-fi, Earth is most often referred to as Terra, yes.

Simply put, terra firma, which is Latin, means from terra "earth" and firma "solid" (or ground)

  • @gribae

    hmm...interresting!

  • Comment removed

  • @blisterbeetle01

    wrong post...

Anyway, that's the shortened version of the meaning 'terra'

  • I must say I'm impressed with the voiceovers in all the mech2 cinematics. The writing is decent by any standard and the voice acting is just marvelous.

  • @chekvb

I loved the dialogue of Mechassault: Phantom War, especially the techwarrant's lines. "Holy CRAP!"

"Convert the HPG into a weapon?! Hauptmann Faulkner, the HPG is a communication device, it's impossible to-"

  • I don't get it, why are the mech's standing on the moon? :O

  • i was dissapointed too

  • The mechs are on the moon because they are preparing a full scale invasion of earth to retake it.

  • I prefer to think that they are invading with the rest of the Inner Sphere to put an end to Word of Blake :)

Granted that plot wasn't even a thought in anyone's head when this game was made, but I think it anyway :)

  • An end to the word of blake? Invading with the rest, just because you find them a better crusader clan... i am not sure if you spend most of your days in a fantasy world.

  • No...invading Earth because the WOB WERE invaded in the 3080's by the entire IS, after they dropped nukes and bioweapons all over the Inner Sphere in a massive tempter tantrum that killed countless billions.

  • @monkeyman1140 that should be what their doing, but these are the filthy traitors of clan wolf in exile, a group that actually settles on Arc Royal

  • @Korraganitar I'd argue that Clan Wolf in Exile represent the true Clan Wolf, since they represent the last of the Warden Wolves

  • @monkeyman1140 Actually, they are NOT on the moon, that is simply a common. Misconception by people, since the Clans didn't get anywhere near to Terra. The video is more to be looked at as the Clans regrouping after Tukayyid, while standing on the moon of another planet in the IS, and the earth-like plamet you see representing everything they are working towards to retake Terra.

Or another way - look. Closely at that planet: doesn't anything like earth, does it, where continents are concerned.

  • @harkeill

"Has guided us to our home on Terra."

  • @harkeill Yes It's the moon. Yes that is a rendition of the Earth's south pole. It's an alternate future type of ending if you win with the faction. It's obviously not canon.

And yes you are right the clan invasion in the Battletech universe never got near earth.

  • @monkeyman1140 Wrong, Clan Wolf is on the moon as a sign that they are protecting Terra. Not invading it. Jade Falcon with the dropships on their ending are invading it.

  • It's not the moon. At least not our moon. They are standing on a planetoid that is on the road back to Terra, with the blue/white planet in front is an earth-like planet. The video is supposed to portray the ideal of the Clans and what they are fighting to reclaim.

  • Well technically, Terra is Earth is called in the Battletech universe, so that blue/white planet that they were staring at was definitely Earth.

  • @AGT619

    No, it wasn't.

Go read through some tech manuals and you'll find out they didn't come NEAR to Earth.

With thousands of earth-like planets in the IS, it is more feasable to assume that planet is just one on the road to taking earth. It could even be Tukayyid, based on the Clan's defeat there and the ending of the Mechwarrior TWO trilogy of games

  • What I'm also curious about, now that you mentioned that there are thousands of Earth like planets, does the Inner Sphere occupy the entire Milky Way galaxy, or is just half of the galaxy?

  • @AGT619

In the books, it says the Inner Sphere is 1,000 light years across acorss (width and breadth) so taking what little I know about the Milky Way from high science science, it would occupy only around a third of the galaxy, if even that.

  • Far, far less... the milky way is believed to be roughly 100,000 ly in diameter.

  • @nl3rd2

As I said, " so taking what little I know about the Milky Way from high science science"...

  • its also the same way if you put it in that text for the Jade Falcons as well...so, basically, until they run into Word of Blake, they'll never see Earth.

  • Virual world's Battletech Telsa II Pod game was DECADES ahead of it's time.

  • Saying this on all of the threads does not mean people will actually take notice of you.

  • *smirking*, only issue is....the wolfs in exile never went to earth...they stayed in the arc royal defense cordon. and terra at this time..or damn near the same time, is being taken over by word of blake, so...LAST place clanners would be allowed. Oh..and its KHAN! phelan kell ward.

  • Only to those who followed him back to the IS. The rest (who became the Jade Wolves and then Wolf again) probably don't consider Phelan Khan anymore.

  • My son's name is Phelan Kell.

  • WOW! (sarcasm)

  • @dogten2k

I hope you children are taken away from you, you psychopath. Naming your kids after a video game is one of the worst things you can do as a parent.

  • @Cinerary Imma have to disagree with you on this, one. Im going name my kid Richard, should I ever choose to have children. my last name is Swett (pronounced sweat). the nickname for richard is dick. so I think I win in the worst name for your children category. cant come up with a good middle name though.

  • You guys all know that there will be two new books coming out early next year. One that will continue the new dark age series, and one that will continue where classic battletech left off.

dark age book title: A Bonfire of Worlds

classic battle tech book title: Shadows of Faith

  • Classic - I don't waste my time on that garbage. It either has to be titled simply BattleTech or I would rather watch it burn. I will check A Bonfire Of Worlds, although I don't much like the series, I have the complete collection so far (it's what a fan does, quiaff?)

  • Really makes you think, doesn't it? I mean, we take our planet for granted so much, and yet in Battletech, they regard it as this legendary paradise of sorts. When we venture out into space to colonize other worlds, will we look back at Earth as a real-life garden of Eden, or a filthy rock of a regretful past?

  • That's a very good question. It all depends on how the human race decides to treat the Earth, and itself, when the time of space colonization comes by. The Clans represent people who will do anything to make great changes to protect the Earth from being destroyed by the evils of human greed and corruption.

  • We need the Clans, then. I am so with Jade Falcon.

  • My three favorite Clans are probably Wolf, Jade Falcon, and Ghost Bear. I go more with Clan Wolf though; their ambition is to establish an order that will protect the Inner Sphere from any threats that will bring about the destuction of humanity, maybe even hostile alien threats.

  • @AGT619

What I'd love to see in Classic Battletech is the Tetatae as a playable faction. You know, from Far Country?

  • What's Far Country?

  • @AGT619

It was a book (and title of it) in the original BattleTech series, authored by Peter L. Rice that chronicled the story of two Jumpships, seperated by several hundred years, getting lost in space after a Mis-Jump and winding up on a planet inhabited by primitive tribal aliens called the Tatatae

  • @Kemonokami I "pick number 2" ha get it... filthy

  • @Kemonokami id say mostly the last. at least i would >_> all people really have given me irl is a crapload of shit when i tried to help them. x.x so i have one thing to say if we all get exterminated by meteor or a star blowing up.... im gonna so shout "GOOD RIDDANCE :D" x3 but it does make you think

  • @Kemonokami

I find that thought even the more disturbing because the BattleTech universe starts to take place a century from now.

  • @Kemonokami thats deep man

  • @Kemonokami I like the Warhammer 40k version of colonisation, where Earth is like some sort of sacred, spiritual lighthouse for humankind

  • @Kemonokami I think the real question is are we going to survive our own dim-wittedness to actually reach out into the stars, I will rejoice on the day that human beings realize that our only true hope for "immortality" lies beyond the earth, after we have guaranteed our survival beyond the inevitable death of our planet we can start asking those questions

  • @GTRPrime The REAL question is if NASA will ever get off their arses and launch a manned ship OUT of Earth's orbit, instead of being stuck there for the last 20 fucking years running 'scientific' tests that no one these days could really give a fuck about.

  • @Gallowell Well those rockets require, supplies, fuel, life support systems, navigation systems ETC.All of those things require money.Money in which our government will not spend on NASA,and therefor causes delays. Those experiments also require money. Those experiments are going in to making travel more efficent between worlds. All of the systems that are required to run NASA come together to a combined cost billions of dollars.

  • @Kemonokami Indeed, it does make you think.

  • Not to go way out in left field. But I usually do.

Clan Wolf faced some of the lightest losses in the invasion. It took some of the lightest damage on Tukayyid. And you say Jade Falcon outdid it in the Refusal War? This I cannot believe.

Wolf should have ate Jade Falcon for breakfast and not splintered like it did.

  • The main reason why they did splinter is due to the fact that most of its younger blood were crusaders in themselves. Many of the Crusaders pitched themselves up in a losing fight against other crusader clans as a way to join what they thought would be the vanguard of the renewed invasion.

Plus, demoralization does a lot to troops, a good portion of them felt sore about many of the actions taken by their Ilkhan.

  • you guys do realise this stuff isnt real right? :)

  • We know it is not real, but that does not mean we still cannot enjoy it. Just as I see on your profile, you have a video speaking of the Wii - you realise that while it is real, it is simply a means to eascape into a game - something that is NOT real.

  • Yup, I realize, but just because it isn't real doesn't mean it shouldn't be regarded for its depth of storyline and universe.

  • An Ilkhan who ended up dying during the initial invasion anyway.

  • right you are wet nose xD

  • *sigh* if that's only how it happened in the official history... DAMN YOU MURDEROUS FALCONS!!!!

now all we have left is a freebirth (Phalin Kell) or a traitor to the warden ways (Vladimir Ward)

GLORY TO ALEXANDER! GLORY TO NICHOLAS, AND GLORY TO ULRICH KERENSKY!!

  • lol that's alot of mechs.

    :)

  • Believe it or not, that's only about 1 Trinary of Battle 'Mechs

  • trinary? what's a trinary?

  • Trinary is a Clan designation for a number of 'Mechs) in a unit. T Inner Sphere have 4 'Mech per Lance (and most militaries of today do as well), the Clans have 5 'Mechs in a Star, 10- 'Mechs in a Binary and 15 'Mechs in a Trinary.

A Star is commanded normally by a Star Commander (as is a Binary) and Trinary- Star Captain.

The more 'Mechs in a unit (such as a Galaxy (which is a Star Colonel) or a Supernova- Galaxy Commander or Khan), a more highly ranked Warrior must be in Clan society.

  • Binary or Trinary = Star Capt

    Star = Star Cmdr

Galaxy 3-5 clusters = Galaxy Cmdr

Cluster 4-5 binaries or trinaries = star col.

(Nova is the clan nova cat equivalent of a Binary, using 1 star of mechs and 1 star of power armor. supernova is a cluster,

    consisting of multiple nova's)

The Khan commands the entire clan's military structure indirectly, having direct control of the elite cluster known as the Keshik, or the elite "bodyguards" of the Khan

  • Cheers. I know much of the military structure and the rank that commands individual units, but sometimes it eludes me when parting my time three different ways.

  • oook.

  • Earth must really be close

  • It was only a few Jumps from Tukayyid which is why Com Star fought so hard on Tukayyid to defeat the Clans. It was, literally, all or nothing.

  • no mechassuilt is not batttech or mechwarrior cannon so no none of that stuff happen. nicholos kerensky was not even around do a timeline of battletech do not lissin to anything mechassuilt.

  • @PyroAcid Mechassault was supposed to be a "sequel" to MW4: Mercs but Microsoft fucked up the timeline by going against canon and gameplay by making it into a third person shooter instead of a simulator.

  • @frogjedi4

yes thank god they scraped those as cannon however and a treu sequel, mech warrior 5 is being made

  • :D never noticed.... earth reflects on cockpit 0:19 like it is up and behind mech, not in front.

  • Kerensky was the founder of/person who organized the clans, so he might be mentioned in mechassault too. He would not have been a playable character though.

  • ya but on mechassault 2 on multiplayer.......wait he is a boy?

  • Ok, not exactly sure what you mean there. In the Battletech/Mechwarrior lore there are several people named Kerensky. One led the clans away from the Inner Sphere, his son formed the clans when they got there, and then 25 elite warriors from Clan Wolf can have the last name Kerensky at a time (it's complicated).

So if you are talking about an NPC in Mechassault that is likely how they got their name. Regular players often like to use the name Kerensky because of that history as well.

  • Oh so major kerensky is one of the people who gets to be named that

  • The Wolf's Dragoons were originally a recon unit sent by the Clans to investigate what was going on in the Inner Sphere. The Dragoons were comprised solely of Clan Wolf warriors. Nicholas Kerensky, who founded the Clans, joined up with the Wolves, thus allowing only the Wolves to fight for his Bloodname. The Major Kerensky in MechAssault 2 is probably either a Bloodnamed warrior who defected to the Inner Sphere, or the descendant of a Bloodnamed warrior.

  • first kerensky, alexander kerensky fought a war for earth during the first succesion war against the star leauge and won. he than told the people of earth (terra) that he would not let one man control all of the inner sphere, and would one day return to earth. he than took the best engineers with him and formed a union on 5 worlds far off in the galaxy known as the pentagon worlds. after his death of old age, the pentagon worlds started waring over the leadership of the worlds (continue)

  • ownage

  • I never got why they were on the moon in the final shot. None of the clans really ever came close to Terra, did they?

  • No, the nearest they got was the planet Tukayyid and one would assume that planet is just the physical representation of the dreams of all Clans. Or that the planet is simply not Terra and is another in the long stepping-stone to reach Terra.

  • Never played all the way through the Wolf campaign, but the whole "We have found new allies in an ancient foe, and enemies in our siblings" quote makes me think that it ends with Clan Wolf-in-Exile being formed, which is canon. I'm pretty sure a contingent of their force met on Terra with the different leaders as well.

  • That's when the Wolves started to realise that the Crusader cause was wrong and switched to be Wardens of the Inner SPhere, so in a way, you're right - this is the lead up to thew Jade Falcon Absorption of the Wolves before they are broken in half and half the WSolves joined the IS

  • Jade Falcon Pride!

  • epic, ALL HAIL CLAN WOLF!!!!!!!!!

  • "We are Clan Wolf, Children of Kerensky. We carry the honor of his name on our shoulders as out fathers did before us..."

  • @wolfleader17

    No, hail Ghost Bears! :D

  • This side's movies, for some good reason, always seem ten times better than the Falcon videos.

  • As they should, aff?!

  • quiaff!

  • neg

  • AFF!! Clan Wolf should have won

  • "this verse had ended,

our destiny is sealed to a once unthinkable fate,

we have found new allies in an ancient foe, and enemies in our siblings,

the honour of the warden way,

like a pyre in the blackness of space had guided us to our home on terra,

kerensky told us of this eden with a promise of deliverance,

we will defend it with our deaths

    ,let the next verse begin"

  • This is so poetic, its almost like something the Wolves in Exile would write into the remembrance -a poem each Clan writes sort of like a living history.

It would have been cool if, back in the day, FASA had declared it to be so.

  • i love 31 frekin first century combat

  • HAIL clan wolf!

  • Ah the timberwolf! That one was a favorite of mine.

  • My god. The first time I saw this video was probably more than 10 years ago.

I still get a physical feeling whenever I see any CG related to MW2.

No games today match that sadly.

  • there was something about them wasn't there?

  • The intro is like the most awesome thing I've ever seen lol.

  • Greetings wolf clan standing by we need new recruits we might have won vs jade falcon but we still have ghost bear to deal with we new some back up bad!!!!! please contact me if you want to help thank you

  • I pretty sure they breed their new warriors using the DNA of their best and don't just hire people off youtube and craigslist

  • that sucks that even though the Wolf kicked the Falcon's asses they still get betrayed.

  • I never really read all the text from the library about the storyline. Whoops.. Kerensky?

  • General Alexander Kerensky took his troops and divisions and left the inner sphere a long time ago. the clans were developed after they arrived in the outer-rim. they continued their weapons development and genetic engineering to the point that genetic engineering was forfront, and freeborn (natural child-birth) was severely frowned upon. the clans would compete against each other over territory and spoils, and the ultimate prize, to have their genetic material added to the clan codex.

  • Read the Books on the clan wars. you can find them at barnes and noble, b.dalton, waldenbooks or amazon, but they are really good reads. explains alot that the games do not. Especially the books by Michael A. Stackpole.

  • I hope clan wolf makes a comeback in like, a mechwarrior 5 and they kill everyones ass and kill the steiners from the inside cuz some of them work for steiner I think

  • so in the modern battletech universe is cl;an wolf still around or have they been obliterated?

  • I think Wolf is still kicking, I hope they are atleast, I have always been a Clan Wolf supporter myself.

  • Clan Wolf is very much alive. After the Word of Blake Jihad they remain a huge power since they weren't hit as hard as the successor states. They also have some Lyran(Stiener) extremist support due to their demanding Melissa Steiner-Davion or they would attack the inner sphere again (they stopped you see).

Anyway, they're just hangin around now. This movie makes me think that they're Clan Wolf in Exile refugees with the whole protect earth thing.

  • Yeah that would be awsome, A madcat in hi def would look amazing if the right company did it.

  • Yep thats what happens in my book...

"Noble clan wolf kicks some wicked falcon ass and gets a shot at juicy Terra..."

    To harlequin2262:

I would support "Sea Fox" if they still existed in mainstream battletech... you can thank "Clan Snow Raven" for that.

  • Don't get your hopes up too high if it doesn't work out. It looks cool, but I think we all know how things like that usually end up.

  • that was directed toward carter551

  • One of the best computer game series ever made, hands down.

  • "We will Defend it to our Deaths, Let the Next Verse Begin". Epic! Long Live Clan Wolf!

  • Those so called "wolf clanners" Mercanaries HAVE no chance of defeating Jade Falcon.

LONGE LIVE TH GLORY OF JADE FALCON!!!

  • Taste the claws of Crusader Clan Ghost Bear!!

  • Fucking awsome.

Mechwarrior 2 will always be the best.

  • Nobody supporting the Sea Foxes? Ra. Feel the sting of the interest rate hike!

  • I love you for this comment. XD

  • great comment...but i must destroy you and your bloodline

  • Bleh to you Carter!!!!If they stand no chance then why were Clan Wolf the only ones to accomplish all of their objectives in the Battle of Tukayyid. Clan Wolf now and forever!

  • And where are the Puppies now? Serving as Wardons for the Inner Sphere, while the Falcons are still creating chaos for those who oppose them... Can anyone say "traitor"?

  • Well if you actually catch up on timeline even the jade falcons help out the IS during the whole Jihad BS from Mechwarrior DORK age.

    That timeline ruined the franchise

  • OIn th
