They make sense. The song is about a robot who once helped to save mankind, but after some time, mankind grew to just accept it as a part of every day life -essentially, ignoring him when he saved people. 'Is he alive or dead?/Has he thoughts within his head/We'll just pass him there/Why should we even care?' shows this the best. He grows to resent this unthankfullness and eventually turns on the people he once saved.
