What I saw was two officers engaged in a civil conversation. No one appeared angry, the person they were talking didn't appear distressed or upset...Hell at the end the officer and guy they were talking to shook hands....so why the hate?

you will not see more false arrests more violations of rights, more b s illegal police conduct like abuse false arrests etc then you will see in isla vista dp sb particularly any party night like halloween, its a fund raiser for them they make fortune in petty b s charges knowing full well 99% them plead guilty over phone pay with credit card WARNING never be in public or streets without numorous witnesses and numorous video cameras! it WILL happen here, not a "if" just a "when!!

1year, ( this is just 1 example out of thousand ive personaqly witnessed in sb on halloween after last 8 or so in a row) but had freionds arrive from nor cal were in town 10 minutes walking down street dp not single drop alcohol consumed ( yet) no containers open nor closed, and 1 freind out of 5 targeted no reason arrested charges "open container" he had no container none us did open or otherwise, and next freind says"you cant do that he diditn do anything" arrested him too! 2 falsearest10min

Yeah, this dude wimped out - probably read to many stories where cops are putting this bullshite wiretapping charges on citizens. However, there is a case in Boston where the police arrested an attorney for this, oops. That attorney filed suit on them, of which the officers tried to claim immunity. The federal court of appeals denied their request. If he wins, that is significant, and can then be used as case law. Maybe then the police will stop breaking our civil liberties.

The police, in conjunction with judges, do NOT always act for freedom, liberty, and service to the common citizen. This is the purpose of copwatch.

So long as there are people in power, a certain portion of them will lose the will to act for the greatest good and will create ordinances which truly enslave others. Cops often do enforce measures to such ends. In fact, it's terribly often. And they may not quite see it yet. Feel free to respond.

Yes, sometimes a coffee or doughnut break is in order, but if you were working all night you might need a little pick-me-up too! The bottom line is this: it is pretty much impossible to completely satisfy students and maintain the safety of campus and Isla Vista, and they are doing the best they can do.

There can be communication errors and they occasionally misinterpret situations, but they do NOT terrorize the public or make seriously irrational judgements- especially for their own benefit. The members of the UCPD have a seriously difficult job and work incredibly hard. They are even willing to put their life on the line to save others.

@joaquincienfuegos Maybe if said "Cop Watch" people would show identification befor HARASSING officers they would be taken more seriously. NONE of the videos of that crap showed a guy asking a cop doing something wrong for his info, all i have seen was a bunch of morons trying to get info from cops that they didn't disclose themselves. Not only are they harassing the cops by repeadedly asking them over and over in one video the guy was arrested for running from them. "Cop Watch" Is total CRAP!
