Sadly in America, the organ is becoming a thing of the past. Many Catholic churches that I have attended, the grand piano has taken the place of the organ. No one is playing the organ any more, it is now the piano. I play a classical organ at a local church, but they were so used the piano as they really do not want the organ played any more.
hahah! you got humor carlo! "you can hear it overblowing, slightly" like there are several degrees of overblowing, whereas a healthy pipe is overblowing, or it isn't, as in digital: 1s and 0s, on or off.
i know you mean 'you can slightly hear it', but it sounded just too funny!
Hi! You performed for the Rodgers Organ Co., also on their demo records back in the day, right? I like to watch you play, also. I am a student organist, and I prefer to play w/out shoes because it's easier. But I do play with shoes sometimes anyway. Do you often perform w/out shoes?
This is a wonderful introduction to the organ: many people who ask me about the organ I direct to this video (and its companion); the explanations, about the stops in particular, are excellent. He explains it much better than I could. Could Carlo post some videos of the Trois Chorals?
You played in a duel between an Allen Computer Organ and the Royal Festival Hall Organ a few years ago. 10 Years ago I was on holiday in Bude, England and the Allen Computer Organ has been restored by Allen himself and is in a large house there. It was a privalige to hear the owner play the organ and he offered me a play, I was so in awe of the organ I couldnt play a note.
What a wonderful introduction to the organ. This man is so eloquent and expresses himself clearly. I like the way he describes the stops as individual colours which are used on a canvass.
Amazing that he plays the pedals with only his socks, mainly because whilst on a tour to the west coast his luggage (including his organ shoes) was sent to Siberia! Whoops!! He had to play in socks for his concerts there and just got used to it. Well why not indeed?! I sometimes enjoy the freedom of 'shoeless' pedalling myself.
Carlo, I study organ at NC School of the Arts where you studied! It's truely amazing to see you perform (as I have several times) and think that you came to the school where I now study.
I loved Mr Curley since 9!

Bravo Carlo! I had the pleasure of seeing Carlo in concert a year ago. He sounds so much like his teacher (Virgil Fox) too.
Keep on playing, Carlo!

I heard he started playing in his socks because he had a case of gout in his foot and shoes hurt his swollen toe.
