  • This is a very trippy episode! I love it for its uniqueness but it is awkward! It must have been hard for them to get through each sceane with a straight face:D EVERY STAR TREK:TOS EPISODE IS A GOOD ONE! :D This one was just a bit...peculiar:D

Oh and yes I know I misspelled a lot of words in here so please ignore that!

    LLAP

  • lol, they made kirk be a horse(poor spok had o be in this episode and had to cry for it)

  • Someone's always trying to kill kirk, and alexander was doctor nigileto lovless in wild wild west

  • The part at 24:02 made me super happy because it reminded me of that "Ballad of Bilbo Baggins" song that Nimoy did. I'm going to hell.

  • I have more of an issue with SPOCK kissing Uhura, then this. (New movie. Watch it again). It just felt . . . . wrong, like sacrilege, all the way around.

  • Man this ep has got to be the most trippy ep of TV I have ever seen. I love it but...still. @_@

  • At 25:55 , he's actually talking to the director off screen.

  • ...This is too awkward...

  • They made Spock cry!

    THEY MUST DIE! xD

  • "Okay, for this scene, we're going to throw chess pieces across the room. Places, everyone!"

  • LYRICS FOR SPOCK'S SONG: Take care, young ladies, and value your wine Be watchful of young men in their velvet prime Deeply they'll swallow from your finest kegs Then swiftly be gone leaving bitter dregs Ah...bitter dregs With smiling words and tender touch Man offers little and asks for so much He loves in the breathless excitement of night Then leaves with your treasure in cold morning light Ah...in cold morning light

  • After all the shit those d-bags put them through, they should have let the midget have his way with the hot blonde at the end. I'm sure he would rather ride her than Kirk.

  • omg spock smooches!

  • .....okay i love Star trek, but what were the writers on when they wrote this episode?

  • @Wolviesbabe89 I don't know but I want some. XD

  • Oh how Chips Ahoy Reeses would go so perfect with Shatner's outstanding performance

  • OMG did you see the way Spock said "Logical" at 45:50 ?!?! That was so BA! Makes me wanna become a Vulcan!

  • This episode must have been ridiculous to shoot. I can only imagine the outtakes.

  • LOL What a cheesy episode!

  • Why are you hitting yourself?

    Why are you hitting yourself?

    Why are you hitting yourself?

    Why are you hitting yourself?

  • y is he a fuckin horse now

  • 20:02

    Never Thought SPOCK would dance

  • I like when Kirk says to the little guy "where I come from size shape or color doesn't matter" That was Gene Roddenberry's vision of the future. Here we are IN THE FUTURE and still talking about color, maybe even more so than at the time when this was made. Technology may have advanced some, but people are still the same. We have advanced NONE. Sad....

  • This episode was everything a star trek episode should be. Also, Alexander was like the best actor I've seen in TOS.

  • I love the Roman music.

  • haha why are you beating yourself up kirk?

  • Ahhh..the infamous episode. Triva: This episode was the first in televison history to show an interacial kiss. Shatner was quoted as telling Rodenberry off when confronted with the scene when the miget rides him...It was also said that the part where Spock in laughing was an actual out-take that they decided to include in the final cut. I met Bill and asked him about this scene, he almost punched me.

  • @RealityDefenseLeague The first interracial kiss between a white man and black woman on TV, you mean. Look up this episode on Memory Alpha.

  • @RealityDefenseLeague The real tragedy is maybe it paved the way for such stupidity in the Next Generation.

  • @PIII550 The next generation was great in the first couple of years.

  • @RealityDefenseLeague - I cannot believe that this kiss caused so much of a stir at the time... who in the hell wouldn't kiss her?!?! Black, white, or purple Nichelle Nichols was HOT!! Did you see Shatner's eyes keep peeking down the front of her dress??? The guy riding me like a horse may have pissed me off, but kissing Uhura?? I would have delightfuly participated!!!

  • @KLUNKET Lt. Uhura was a hottie, she was beautful and had a smoking hot body. For Shatner, I guess there was an upside (kissing Uhura) and downside (Being ridden by a Miget) to that episode. I just know this, when I saw this episode for the first time, I laughed so damn hard I fell outta my bed and hurt my knee. Ahh the memories.

  • they made spock cry and laugh ( i must break them)

  • man....random.....

  • NOOO!!! DON'T CRY SPOCK!!!

    (hugs Spock)

  • I'M TWEEDLEDEE HE'S TWEEDLEDUM!!!!!!!!

    XD

  • What's wierd is that you escape to the internet to get away from all these pharmaceutical companys trying to scare you into buying their drugs and what happens? They follow you onto the internet. Cigarette, oil, and pharmaceutical companies are going to kill this country...you heard it from me first.

  • oh god, this episode was so awkward...

  • Apollo and Tremaine would kick their asses

  • Kirk top looking down Uhura's dress! Good thing Alexander wasn't wearing red!

  • Still think Parvin is going to go back to his old ways after they leave.

  • Hey, it's not Shatner's fault (sorta). JTK's behavior is being CONTROLLED. Yeah? If'n ya think the performance is "bad" ... we can always blame the Platonians, right? ;~)

  • 24:29 am I the only one who found that incredibly touching? for all their constant bickering and fighting, McCoy looks so distressed when they make Spock cry.

  • darn kirk got bitch slapped in this episode.

  • Yeah...taking a pretty shaky actor like Shatner and giving him a basically impossible job in this episode was not the greatest move. I mean, could anyone have done this well? I don't know...

  • this has got to be the only episode where Spock and Kirk's clothes are even shorter than the nurse and uhura!

  • Actually it's not the first interracial kiss on television. Spock and Christine are. If you want to get technical about it.

  • @AceOfHeart2012 They did not see a Vulcan and human. They saw a white man wearing pointy ears kissing a white woman. Shatner and Nichols' kiss was the first REAL interracial kiss on TV. The others were ignored because it was just fantasy. Back then it would be todays equivalent of using real cadavers on a kids TV show.

  • @AceOfHeart2012 Well, technically Spock is of another "Species" so their kiss way inter-species not racial.

  • Many of us don't realize what an awesome actor Michael Dunne was. Remember him as Dr. Lovelace on Wild Wild West? He was the first actor I remember who really gave me the heebeejeebeez. What a talent.

  • well that was interesting, youtube tried to make me watch a blank screen while listening to the episode.

  • Yes, Leonard Nimoy can sing. He played the lead in a Broadway production of Fiddler on the Roof. I can't believe people still have a problem with Kirk kissing O'hura. I agree with the Squire of Gothos, "She as the melting eyes of the Queen of Sheba; the same lovely coloring."

  • @vlfb Star Trek without Uhura would not have been worth watching. She's beautiful, spicy, lyrical, and sharper than a tack, let me tell you! The kiss caused quite a stir back in the day, I'm sure. Different times.

  • @vlfb Really? Who did he play?

  • @vlfb i liked his singing until i head the ballad of bilbo baggins :D

  • 25:40 ATOS

  • This is the most funniest episode ever! I love the scenes where Michael Dunn is riding Shatner and when Nimoy and Shatner do the 'Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum' dance!

  • Is it me, or did anyone else get a little flustered when Mr. Spock broke that goblet just by squeezing it? That was pretty hot...

  • One of my favorite episodes.

    5 Stars!

  • To all you racists; GET OFF OF THE STAR TREK PAGES! Star Trek is not for people like you.

  • @ bond: Sorry, can't hear you, you're too short.

  • Woo! First interracial kiss caught on TV ever!

  • Leonard Nimoy has a lovely singing voice. Never knew that.

  • @PrometheusWithLight Nimoy can do anything and everything. :)

  • "What's up?"

"The sky, the sun... everything but midgets."

Ah, back in the days when you could use midget actors.

  • @PrometheusWithLight. Leave your bigotry at home there is no place for it on this channel.

  • When Spock is leaning against the steps laughing, i get a very strong urge to sex him up.

  • ha! i love it when he says, "I DID!" =)

  • haha spock

  • The way Kirk slaps himself! Karen Grassle of Little House on the Prarie should have slapped herself that way after she had failed to play a teacher well on a LHOTP ep!

  • ha! Mr. Spock's even cuter when he's laughing.

  • ok, this is a good episode, but really awkward at parts.

  • I like this episode too. I don't know why so many people hate it. It's even more ridiculous when people put it in the bottom five (and sometimes as the worst)!

  • Chaple i suggest u back away from spock be for i kick u in the face. lol god i swear her theme song must be superman by eminem...

  • Star Trek does it once again....... TV's first interracial kiss!!

  • "For so long I've wanted to be close to you. Now all I want to do is crawl away and die." OUCH.

Something about the way she said that made me burst into fits of laughter.....in the public library. Oh man....

  • Wow, that toothpaste ad changed my life. I totally thought parenthood stopped at bedtime.

  • The Captain's acting like a horse is the best i've ever seen!

  • Mr. Spock actually laughs in this episode...lol...first time i've ever seen him smile let alone laugh, smile, dance, and sing.

  • What happened to Alexander?

  • I think he left with Kirk & crew at the end. They dropped him off on the wild west

  • Wow.

Kirk AND Spock singing and dancing?

  • 20:00 I believe that is the second reference to Alice in Wonderland

The first being the white rabbit and the girl Alice on the episode Shore Leave

  • I love this episode just because Spock smiles and laughs a lot :)

  • I guess I'm like a mother with an ugly kid ((or just a really big nerd)) but I think every episode is genius!!

    I'll even vouch for Spock's Brain :D

  • Spock laughing?

  • 25:47

    wow.... just wow....

  • 4:54 to 4:57... Lol, Spock, WTF?!

Lmao, "ever active brow". Soooo true. :P

POOR SPOCK OH LORDY! Its so hard to watch, and yet really funny!

  • Kirk Why ya slappin yourself why ya slappin yourself it's illogical to slap yourself ROFL thats all I could think of when the guy started makin Kirk Slap himself =D

  • ROFL they made Spock Laugh and then Cry =O then they made Spock Sing and Kiss Chapel =O lol and Kirk in the worst outfit ever I love these people =D

  • @musicluverJmarie17 I know! Those tunics are so short...! I don't know whether to like it or think its totally disgusting. O_o

  • The most famous moment in Star Trek, in one of the worst episodes.... 42:52

  • Shakespeare sonnet 57. Nice.

  • i know it's supposed to be serious and all ...but it's really funny.

  • Lol, nimoy's not a bad singer. XD

Worst acting EVER shatner. Lol, I luv it.

THEY MADE SPOCK CRY! LEMME MURDER THEM!!!

  • LOL

  • @likethearts lol ill help u! gimme my stick!

  • "Take care, young ladies, and value your wine Be watchful of young men in their velvet prime Deeply they'll swallow from your finest kegs Then swiftly be gone leaving bitter dregs Ahh-ah-ah-ah bitter dregs "With smiling words and tender touch Man offers little and asks for so much He loves in the breathless excitement of night Then leaves with your treasure in cold morning light Ahh ahh in cold morning light" Leonard Nimoy wrote the song!
  • @likethearts

From what I remember, Nimoy IS a singer.

My personal favorite is "If I had a hammer"

  • *crys* poor spockie

  • lol

    tweedle dee and tweedle dum

  • Kirks been a bad boy *slap*

    Bad boy *slap*

    Bad boy *slap*

    Bad boy *slap*

  • McCoy is so funny he is my favorite then spock then Kirk haha

  • O_O

    wait...

    are you serious?

    he was playing horsey...?

  • Spock in a skirt....

    -nosebleed-

    Fascinating....

  • If you want to know why Star Trek rules, check out 10:45-11:02.

  • Leonard Nimoy has a fairly good voice.

  • I'm a Spock fangirl but wow, 45:37-45:44

    Best Kirk Moment Ever.

He looks so damn proud of himself. His hair looks great in this episode btw :]

But as always, I love Spock more <3

  • ooh lala! Spock in a cute little outfit, arms and legs showing!!!!! You can't get much sexier than that!!!! Plus, he sings beautifully!!!!

  • Very Shatneresque. lol

  • I just feel bad for Spock, Chapel, Kirk, and Uhura. Messing with Chapel's and Spock's emotions like that: totally awful. Poor Spock's already had an emotional breakdown that day. And then making Uhura kiss her superior officer!

And poor McCoy has to watch!!!

  • It's insane how much I love Spock in a skirt.

    Such a short one, too.

GahDAMN he's got some fine legs.

  • you got that right!

  • piece of shit, low life, savage beast, devil ass cracker! = you!

  • @fredib100 retard n1ggers ,typical.lol

  • Short togas XD

Show off dem sexy legs Kirk!

  • Spocks got nice legs too!!!

  • SPOCK SINGS! And he's good!

  • It is totally absurd that Parman could control a starship with his mental powers.

Controlling the movements and speech of a few people in close proximity is one thing, but to have the ability to reach out into space with his mind and hold the Enterprise in orbit around the planet is just not plausible.

  • i like 41:08! moment of truth! XD\

    lol luve it!

  • Frieburgers give me sour stomach....

  • Comment removed

  • i like McCoy's face when everyones being controlled...

  • Shatner makes a lousy riding animal. He could take some lessons from Ned Beatty in "Deliverance".

But kissing hot chocolate Nichelle must have been HEAVEN!! I wonder if he fucked her.

  • I thought the exact same thing about "Deliverance". I wonder how Ned Beatty would have done in the role of Captain Kirk.

From the accounts I have heard about the kissing scene, Shatner was making all kinds of jokes about it between scenes, while Nichelle Nicols was most annoyed with this boorish behavior.

  • that sounds like something Bill Shatner would do.

  • 13:55 Stop hitting yourself idiot lol

  • Despite some of the weirdness, I liked this episode. Spock looks adorable in his emotions...and poor Spock, so humiliated, he could bash someone's face in XD

  • I would not want to be near him during then,

  • Oh my God, Spock singing is the best thing ever! Even though he's being forced. :( That and his little flamenco tapdance thing. I love Spock waaay to much. Heh heh.

  • UMmmmmmmmmmmmm.... Creepy

  • I cant belive this show was only on for 3 seasons and there are tons of shows that are horrible that ran longer. What happened didnt anyone like this show back in the 60s?

  • Quite possible....and logical!

  • This is, by far, one of the most fucked up episodes in Star Trek. I can deal with Kirk hitting himself, Spock dancing, even laughing, but seeing Kirk being ridden by a midget is too much. I freaking burst out laughing, when I saw that part.

  • Agreed this episode is friggin ridic.

  • But it is also one of my personal favorites. It's, like, second to "The Doomsday Machine", in my opinion.

  • I bet they had so much fun filming that scene!

  • i ammm the puuhppett mastaahh!!! lol

sigh* shes not bad lookin for someone whos from that time period - the evil 1...such a shame ...

  • when the dwarf started to ride kirk i was eating and i choked on my food lol

  • Ride'm cowboy! xD

  • spock looks so pissed when hes singing its funny

  • Comment removed

  • Leonard Nimoy has such a wonderful laugh!

  • right before the first break...only one thing came to my mind. STOP HITTING YOURSELF STOP HITTING YOURSELF STOP HITTING YOURSELF STOP HITTING YOURSELF STOP HITTING YOURSELF STOP HITTING YOURSELF STOP HITTING YOURSELF STOP HITTING YOURSELF STOP HITTING YOURSELF STOP HITTING YOURSELF
  • Gods! Spock scares me when he sings! He actually sounds GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • WTF at 50:00 why are there Swastikas everywhere?

  • You never saw the episode "Patterns of Force?"

  • Nope but i guess i have to watch it now,

  • LOL at 30:21 I was convinced he was going to start playing Stairway to Heaven.

  • Bushwick Bill should play the midget if they ever remake this episode.

  • does anyone else find Spock laughing to be disturbing? O.O

and does anyone else want to give emo!Spock a big giant hug!? D:

  • haha, lol

  • I love it when Kirk bitch slaps himself!

  • I completely lost it when Spock and Kirk started dancing and singing. They looked ridiculous!!!

  • wow, i never thought id see the day when spock was comferted by a midget, god i hope thats in the next movie

  • dude this episode is weird

  • "Dr. McCoy you may yet cure the common cold" xD

  • I adore Star Trek, but this episode is just nauseating. Kirk and Spock and that ridiculous dance? Talk about embarrassment!

  • u just dont insult a mother. even a half humans mother. that pisses em off. i hate my mom. but if you offend her ill kill u. XD

  • Great episode. Never understood why they didn't just look to hire a doctor. Have the Enterprise sub-space radio a want ad and pay like 10% over market salary, free room and board and cool powers. Or hire a medical staffing service to place a temp if they couldn't find a permanent doctor. Surely at least one doctor in the whole galaxy willing to work for over market pay and great benefits. Or even a nurse practitioner. Much less trouble and they wouldn't have to go to war with the Federation.

  • Most logical

  • Hire? They were too arrogant to pay anyone for their services. They were accustomed to slavery of anyone that didn't hold their power.

  • O.OFirst of all, they are not members of the Federation, so I doubt they can place an ad. lol Secondly, the last thing they want is to make their planet's unique qualities known to everyone in subspace. They want McCoy because he is already there.

  • Good points. But they just need one doctor so no need for everyone to know all the details about their planet. Also they could have the Dr. sign a confidentialty agreement not to disclose anything, kind of like Michael Jackson Dr. had to do. He wasn't allowed to discussed details on MJ as bound by patient confidentialty.

  • cheesy faux rome. somebody paint in some decent backgrounds cg

  • spock could actually sing

  • plato hated democracy and favored aristocracy. these bad guys are very confused.
