When I was gettin ready for school, fixin my hair, puttin on makeup,I'd listen 2 dis album of Willie and all my friends made fun of me,cuz only Rock n Roll was what they were all listening 2.Now in our 40's,they remember when it seemed like I was da only 1 who like Willie.Little did they know,he's a classic,a ''Legend''.Btw,His pic was air brushed on 17th birthday cake...
This song speaks volumes for those of us that have struck out in our love lives. In all honesty, I had a copy of Willie's sixteen biggest hits CD a few years ago, and this song was on it. I didn't like it at first, but when I experienced the breakup of my first real serious relationship, I gave this song a listen. Let's just say the rest is history. Thanks Willie for giving us this unforgettable classic.
This has to be my all-time favorite song. Thank you, Mr. Willie Nelson. Like 'The Possum' once sang, '...this old world is is full of singers but just a few were chosen to tear your heart out when they sing.' You, Willie, most definitely are one of those few.
At the time, I was married to the most beautiful woman I'd ever known or seen. She was a "dancer" and I felt hard for Angela, I would have glady died for her. It all went south one day and to this day I'm still dying for her and will do so until the Almighty brings me home. Until then, I live with a broken heart and memories; nevertheless, I still and always will....lover her.
This is a really good song that drives right up my road, seems like we lose to many loves in todays hussel and bussel, To many hearts break, to many forget the reasons they fell, and then want to change the other, One to many loves have walked away in one form or another,,,none of us are perfect,,
Go Gary P. Nunn........You sang it for me at the Armadillo Palace!......Keep in mind we've actually had Lone Stars at the Armadillo World HQ.....you're gettin' old...or as JJ would say Just gettin' by!
i can remember me and my twin brother dancing with moma when we were kids in the kitchen to this song. we love and miss you moma r.i.p.

IIRC,this is a old Rodney Crowell song. Willie and practically everybody on the planet has covered it,though.

Written by Gary P. Nunn and performed by Willie Nelson, Man, music simply does not get any better than this.
