The truth is there's no contigent of WCW wrestlers that can perform to any great standard anymore. The WWF wrestlers of the the late 90s have pretty much gone as well outside of a couple examples. WCW is just plain gone as a brand. It's no different than ECW, AWA or Smoky Mountain etc. Without WCW wrestlers, there's nothing to sell.

The Invasion was purely about making money, he wouldn't have given Eric Bischoff a job if the Invasion was as you say it was. He didn't need to make it about burying WCW, he'd already won.

He could have bought out a few contracts-maybe not all of them, but whatever-and created a real Invasion force, but no. He signed nobodies and tried to portray them as a threat. So weak were they that they had to allign with ECW-by far the stronger group.

Because if it's not a WWE creation, it doesn't belong in WWE.

Of the times that I watched the ECW company I never liked it. The ECW recreation that WWE did was just that and was extremely similar to the WWF or the WWE or whatever you want to call it. I never liked ECW. My favorite wrestling promotions were the WWF and the WCW and based on what happened back in 2001 I would prefer to watch a WCW wrestling show these days more than a WWF/E show. Back in the 90's if I would know that the WWE will have a US monopoly, then I would block the USA network.

Not for lack of trying, but for instance, the main event falling through was a HUGE let down for a TON of wrestling fans who saw that as a chance to not only say goodbye to ECW with a bang, but also draw attention to TNA with an amazing match. Jerry Lynn vs RVD woulda been amazing as they had planned, but instead we got Sabu. It's not anybody's fault, Lynn got injured, but they coulda put it on hold or something lol.

2005's One Night Stand was where it should've just stopped. It was a pretty great show, the only way they topped it was by having RVD beat Cena at the 2006 one, which was just cool symbolism, even if it didn't last long.
