  • bad product the product sits on top of the hair it has petroleum oil and that's real bad for black hair.

  • @duceQ You should be specific with your opinions on the products

  • @Sierah07 Sorry the gel is petroleum free. the petro is not good for black hair just looking out for us no harm intented. you have a nice day........................

  • i was surprised you would mention the coconut oil.. i never hear anyone speak about it yet i hear how it really does make hair grow quicker.. i got mine from a health food store.. extra virgin coconut oil.. i also find it to be very good on the skin as well without making it greasy. thanks Sierah! =)

  • @stopjoshing No problem!

  • Wat up my name is jonathan and im asking which product you think is the best 1

  • Depends on what type of hair you have.

  • Thanks for the vid. I want my hair to grow fast. I will try the oil and shea butter micro mix. PeAcE and bLeSsInGs

  • I was wondering did you ever use the mango and lime shea butter and if so how did that work out for you? because I started my locs about 5 months ago and right now I use the mango and lime shea butter and carrot oil, I also take biotin once a day and so far I have seen a lot of growth in the past few months.

  • No I have never used it before but it sounds good, you are doing all the right things.

  • @ttime618 Which shea butter are you talking about? the 100% natural one is the best.

  • @Sierah07 i was referring to the Jamaican mango an lime shea butter. I am still using it now and still have no problems I am a year into my locs and I love them, I'll be posting a video real soon

  • I learned that mixing water and shampoo, like half and half in another bottle is a great way to saturate the hair to clean it. :-) If you have any more questions feel free to hit me up. :-)

  • I've had my locks for about 4 years now. The best thing to do is keep it VERY SIMPLE. Use all natural Shea Butter, not the stuff in Wal-Mart. Also, I use Nature's Blessing (Google it) for the past 7 years. As for shampoos and conditioners, I don't care, anything that doesn't leave residue. Now my locks are TOO long. I have to show dated pictures to prove my 4 year journey. Just love your twist or locs and they will turn out GREAT.

  • @JSouth23 where did u get ur all natural shea butter from? and wht brand was it?

  • Im not sure where they got theirs from but Ive always gotten mine from and African vendor at some sort of event or booth in a mall.

  • that stuff u make in the microwave. . .u used that african she butter and wat kind of oil? like brand and everything

  • I dont recall, im not doing hair anymore. But it was organic coconut oil normally used for cooking.

  • This will help me alot...i just locked my sons' hair last night..and was wondering what maintenance products i can use..i will try the shea butter..but how soon should i moisturize his hair and how often? Thnanks in advance...: )

  • Just keep an eye on his scalp, if it appears as if it needs it...I used it monthly,

  • thanks : )

  • Very cool vid. I'm 5 months into my journey and the itching and frizz has been the most troubling. Thanks for the pointers

  • @420stud429 No problem

  • @naturalsituation You're Welcome

  • what do u use the lockin wax gel for?

im gonna get locd up in february

is all i need Jamaican lime & mango locking gel?

  • @Joakimbrian1 To do two strand twists, you should be fine with just the locking gel

  • great video very informative

Oh, some ppl put a stocking cap on when they wash to prevent loose locs. I use Organic Root Stimulator Dry Shampoo' inbetween washes. U won't need water w/ this product. IDK of many washing techniques. If/when I find some I'll share them w/ you.

    Peace & Love.

    I Subscrbd

  • Thanks!

  • 0:50 is all you need

  • I'd like to say that the shampoo at 1:45 worked great for me. It's the only shampoo I used in the beginning

  • What type of oil did you use with the natural Shea Butter?

  • Organic Coconut Oil. Its the kind used for cooking.

  • JML used to have natural ingredients, not anymore. The wax and gel are now still smelling as good but just a lot of petrolatum and minerla oil. Stick to the ORS.

  • Nice video homie!! I do mine myself to! Check my vids out n let me know what you think! Suscribe Please!!

  • Thanks.

  • does it matter wat u wash yo hair wit???

  • Yes, you do not want anything with any fragrances or anything heavy that will weigh your hair down.

  • were u get that coconut oil at

  • Any grocery store should have it or something like it. Just make sure its organic.

  • Very nice vid. I am on my second set of dreadlocks. My first set I started 1995... beeswax was the thing and there wasn't a whole lot of info out there. This second dread journey is interesting.... now.. they say don't use beeswax. I am curious as to how you used the ORS Lock and Twist gel, did you use it on dry hair, wet hair, with oiled hair?

  • I wet the hair first, then I put oil mixture on the scalp and then I use the product on the locs.

  • gr8 vid ! ive tried everything u listed lol i dont like softee gel leaves a LOT of build up

but I agree with you shea butter is the best (pure shea butter) ive been using it for years on my hair and body except i mix my shea butter with tea tree oil
