Ah, the 1111 under the el stop at Bryn Mawr Ave., Georg with Hey Hey Humphries, Ernie Gollner, Del Lincoln, and a variety of keyboard players. How I miss it! Cap'n Showbiz could blow that sliphorn.
Trad jazz in Strongsville, OH next week - the Earlyjas Festival.
Used to see Georg at the 1111 in Chi, and Hodes all over the town. Long gone. Wonderful times though, thanks to them. Hope they understood how much joy they brought to the likes of us. alkuhn1
"How 'bout that you lucky people!" They sure were. Back then you could stlll hear hot Chicago-style trad Jazz by guys who invented it. Some of us still play it, but that bunch was not to be beat. Thanks for the posting.
@Edv468 Ed, I'm Art's daughter. The clarinetist is Jimmy Granato. I can't remember the trumpet player or the drummer but I think that's Truck Parham on bass...
@Edv468 No problem, Ed. Can't tell you how great it is to see that there are still a lot of folks out there that enjoy the Traditional Jazz that we literally grew up on and that they post the videos on YouTube. What a treasure they are for the muscians' families.
@MargaretHFigueroa Margaret, I just did some research and The Trumpet player is Nap Trottier and The drummer is Monte Mountjoy, thanks again for your information Ed
