Bands doing it ONLY for the music is bad mainstream, but Led Zeppelin is 2nd best selling rock band in the world they're in the mainstream and they aren't bad at all. They went completely against the grain and preferred there stuff not to be on the radio. Popular doesn't mean bad just like underground doesn't necessarily mean good.
