@livadica321 lol just becase your watching it, doesnt mean your doing it... yes it is slow and looks boring. but when your actually doing it, it is so much intensity. i tried this for chest, and i felt every single muscle fibre working, and is one hell of an intense training. i tried for back as well, and i felt all my muscles that i was working, biggest pumps. try it for yourself on a deload week.
what's mike recommend for traps? i see delts, bis, tris..just wonderin, this shit is amazing i can't wait to get into the gym and try it on leg day tomorrow, just found this today
Sz that is a wrong idea. For muscle growth you have to provide intensity for that. Mike mentions that. Overtraining is continual high intense trainning without 100 recovery of the muscle. You will get weaker because of this not stronger!
Sometimes I think God allowed Mike Mentzer to be a bodybuilder only with the purpose to make Mike previously feels what he was bound to discover later: the real truth behind the bodybuilding art. You were a genius, Mike. You were a genius and we miss you a lot. RIP.
Sometimes I think God allowed Mike Mentzer to be a bodybuilder only with the purpose to make Mike previously feels what he was bound to discover later: the real truth behind the bodybuilding art. You were a genius, Mike. You were a genius and we miss you a lot. RIP.
MENTZER: That anabolic steroids may have somehow altered my personality. Many people fear that taking steroids will adversely affect them physically. I’m more concerned about the way they might have affected me psychologically or my personality. Scares me to death!
the most motivating video i've seen. total gets you pump to work out.sounds kinda weird working out only 4-6 days. but he looks like he total drained markus.
I worked the front desk when they filmed this. Mike paid me 100 bucks to stay open an extra hour or 2. He was very nice to me. But i remember his crew being upset with him for smoking. He died the very next day then his bro ray died a day or two later. Very sad
@Orion8888 yea it seems crazy at first, but if you read his book "High Intensity Training the Mike Mentzer way" he explains why in complete detail.
In the book he recommends 96-120 hours. So this guy is taking a little extra than that off. But he generally says to rest 4-7 days. I always like to keep it between 4-5 days
the whole video was made in one day. they just changed clothes. Poor Markus was in hell. I feel bad for that poor bastard having to do a full body HIT workout.
Rest days depends on the individual. Simply monitor your progress with a simple, accurate diary. If you aren't progressing, you didn't leave enough time for your body to adapt to the stress you put it through last work out. You "short circuited the growth period." Increase your rest days and continue until you find your equilibrium. You will need to constantly record, monitor and adapt accordingly. Just remember never leave your HIT with anything left in the tank!
the fact that i will never have a chance to meet Mike is trully....man, i dont even have a word for it...just to meet him and to thank him for what he has done for my life (not too mention countless others) would be the greatest honour i could think of.
@Chad01234 IT IS only once every 5-8 days between sessions not mon/wed/fri. I have been training this way for years now and i will take up to anywhere from 6-9 days rest between workouts as it is real brutal. I know its hard to take in that you will be doing each bodypart once every 4 weeks but i still grow from month to month and my workouts last 30-40 minutes but you are totally wasted after i shit you not! Try it you wont be dissapointed.
@theringmonster so if i kill myself every workout but i still follow 48-72 waiting period of rest. not a whole week, i havent heard or seen anybody grow tremendously like a volume workout while doing a hit routine and resting a week at a time.
@afterthefact15 If you train to the letter and push yourself to the limit and only take 48-72 hrs between sessions you may burn out after a few weeks or so, but everyone is different so try it to see how you go it may work, as for myself i need more rest days to fully 100% recover.
@afterthefact15 the purpose of a 7 day+ rest period, is for those who are heavy and lift very heavy weights, as more pressure is put on the body and an increase in over training becomes more apparent due to the tremendous pressures of lifting very heavy weights and a heavy mass. Therefore, more rest is needed to avoid overtraining and stimulate growth and rest.
if u want to gain muscles-and weight-mike's proposes this kind of exercise plan with a 6000 calories diet.He said that litle fat is no wrong. If u want to lose fat, change the cal intake. The exercises are very stricly and slow always to failure.I think he preffer machines bcs the intesity is the same all the way up or down and u cant cheat.
remember people if your still growing dont change it if you have stopped then you need to change it iv been doing less down the gym i used to workout 5 days a week now only doing 3 and i tell you i feel so much better now and im getting stronger to my muscles look more pumped :) if you aint doing steriods you will take alot longer to recover from a workout
dam he struggled in the last few reps.. that looks like such good resistance training lol.. was he breatheing properly? myt of been hard because of the weight but ye..
@ivanasv It takes months of not working out to lose only around 30% of the muscle you gained just from working out. You would have to starve yourself or be in a coma for years before you lost more than that so don't worry about resting 8, 9, or even 10 days before working out again. In his book he actually doesnt recommend daily cardio because it uses up the resources the body needs to grow. If you want to get ripped, stop lifting, and do nothing but cardio for a few weeks and change your diet.
@benniturd He's right-Mike mentions it in his book all the time-even in the beginning of the chest and back video he says that aerobic activity uses up too many resources needed to recover for weight lifting. He wrote that right before competitions he would focus on nothing but cardio to burn fat to get "ripped" or look more defined. I'm sure greendude didn't mean permanently stop working out-more like a break for cardio =)
@mrhighintensity Markus, I'm a huge fan and just done done reading HIT the MM way, and I was just wondering whether he had you on this type of routine when you trained (the ideal routine) or the more simplified "consolidated" routine. There seems to be some confusion online as to which type of routine Mike himself recommended. Thanks!

Well I asked on other videos about the amount days trained per week. I assumed a M - W - F type workout.
This is sounding like he's coming in 1 time per week.
I just don't get it. I keep assuming they are saying 6 days between a particular workout not ALL workouts.
