Although I really love the Hyun Jung & Baek Hyun pairing, I think they made him like Pulip because she is average. When you think about it, not all teenage girls look like Ji Yeon. I think the writers wanted to give some hope to all those girls that they can be liked because of their personality rather than only on their looks.

But that's just me.
