Also to help improve the bow hold, she should do some exercises to strengthen her hand. I still remember the first time I had to do those exercises, I was in first grade. (I am young music professor now) (just graduated from college)
She needs to move her elbow slightly forward, so that her bow is more pointed toward her rather than away. Also she needs to apply more pressure with a quicker stroke of the bow, giving it a more bold sound. And yet another is tho tighten your bow and use some rosin!!!
I am currently working my way through Suzuki Vol. 1. I have been playing violin for two weeks. But you know what...even I can tell that her bowing technique is terrible! She is sliding it up and down the strings vertically and not straight bowing. Is she really a teacher? MY SOUND is better than hers!
@thevickizzz i start playing for like 20 days, and it doesnt sound bad when i play carefully and following the tape on fingerboard. the first 15 days of practice open string sounds quite harsh and glassy .. really bad sound! i use a rubber mute so i dont disturb my neighbors (and dont hurt my ears) but after knowing how to bow correctly it will sound way much better. i cant say im making a "good sound" on the violin now, but prety much same sound as in the video
In my studio, students learn the bow hold very quickly using the Bow Hold Buddies[tm] bow accessory. The accessory keeps the hand relaxed and fingers in place while we learn more music.
This is Easy O.O memorizing it in one day! :D
