  • U2 is a much better, but lets not resort to bigotry in order to put down artists we don't like.

  • Why are even you comparing U2 with the Jonas Brothers? Prefferences aside, U2 are a classic band, the Jonas are a fad. U2 are in the big game since the mid-eighties, where do you think the Jonas Brothers wil be in 25 years? Heck, I don't think anyone will remember them five years from now.

  • filmed in dublin 1983 east dock......

  • the stars is not bono is u2!!!!!!!!!!!! just perfect!

  • MRobert21,

Great to see such a unilateral perspective on things.

    Consider the following:

For upwards of 8 centuries were the Irish subject to British authority.Although this does not seemingly justify the uneccesary violence sometimes undertaken by the I.R.A., it sheds light on the motivations at play.

After 900 years of being controlled and brutalized by the Brits, wouldn't you be just a wee bit pissy?Impatient? Thought so.

  • War and the Unforgettable Fire albums are pure nostalgic 80's

  • love is universal and immortal. fuck boundaries. they're not really real.

  • Bono is the living definition of a rock star.

  • definitywnie jego najleprza piosenka

  • Meraviglia!!!! questo si che è proprio Bono :) grandi U2 !!!!!

  • The debate rages on

  • U2 is Irish :)

  • Lucky the Irish people for having the worl'ds best band.Regards from Barcelona (Spain).U2 Por siempre!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The British soldiers are the real terrorists, who tortured and killed innocent civilians all around the world.

  • questo è bono XDD

  • Whenever I hear this song I can't help but think of Homer getting beat up by U2 on a giant screen.

  • brilliant!

  • This is a really good song, but my favorite U2 songs are Beautiful Day and I Stil Haven't Found What I am looking for. Sunday Bloody Sunday is a fine tune, but I am not wild about the political messaging in it.

  • its not a political message. He's honoring the life of Martin Luther King.

  • If you read my comment correctly, you would see that I was making reference to the pro Irish terrorist political message in Sunday Bloody Sunday. This song has another left wing political message in regards to Martin Luther King, but I was not talking about that in my comment. U2 is very honest about that they put left wing political messages in their songs and I respect them for at least being honest about it. I do not need to agree with the politics of the songs to enjoy listening to them.

  • Look man obviously there paying homage to Martin Luther King, but in regards to Sunday Bloody Sunday, Bono has said that it is not a biased song regarding left or right, Irish or British, Catholic or Protestant, it is a cry for peace. search "U2 Sunday Bloody Sunday Live in Dublin 1987" and click the first video and listen to the whole song. There is an interview half way through saying that he felt the song was a failure because of people interpreting the meaning of the song wrong!

  • Martin Luther King is a left wing political icon whether you like him or not, so paying homage to him in song is political. I respect Bono for admitting he is liberal and for on the issue of Africa of being willing to reach out to conservatives, such as the late great Senator Jesse Helms. I have heard Sunday Bloody Sunday many times and in musical terms it is very good, but it is leftist and pro IRA terrorist, which I do not agree with. Comparing British soldiers to terrorists is ridiculous.

  • well first of all i can see you didnt look up the video i told you about because bono says in the video that he thinks that sunday bloody sunday was a failure because people like you refuse to throw away biased opinions on the song. oh as for the British not being terrorists how about this fact to show different. the death toll of children during the anglo irish troubles from 1968 onwards. 152 children murdered by british soldiers.141 of them are catholic, only 20 murdered by the IRA.

  • @MRobert21 I would say through their imperialistic agenda throughout history which involved colonization, and any means of expansion, including murder, terrorist behavior.

  • Colonialism has nothing to do with terrorism not to mention that England ceased to be a colonial power over 60 years ago while the IRA went on happily murdering. Fighting in battle as British soldiers do is not terrorism, while killing children and blowing up stores like the IRA does since the Irish do not have the balls to fight the British military directly is terrorism. Britain was bravely protecting the protestant majority of Northern Ireland from the vicious IRA terrorists that hated them

  • dicaang they took YOUR life this is song about Martin luther king he was murdered at morning april 4

  • one of the best songs ever written

  • i love this song u2 forever!!

  • Génaile!

  • My favorite U2 song (from about 50 great songs to choose from...). Long live U2!!

  • right^^

  • I Agree

  • This looks like an Aslan video. Why do they have all them creamcracker kids in it?

  • Some adults are back there, too. No idea what the symbolism is there, though. Maybe that everyone can relate. Or that it's something we refuse to accept?

  • U2 wrote "Miami"

  • Free at last, they took your life

They could not take your pride

  • it is originally in sepia.....good vid

  • solid video!

  • Rattle & Hum!

    ,

Yes, this is my first time watching this music video.

    Not sad.

  • Easily the best U2 song. So powerful, it totally captures what this band is about.

  • @wilhelmsan

The only competitor is One, that song hits me just as hard as this one.

  • indelebile

  • 1. I only just found out tonight that it's actually "What more in the name of love" not "One night..." --I'm 20, this makes me sad.

    2. Bono needs to put on sunglasses, his eyes freak me out.

  • who cares ?

  • lol-still a good song

  • wow, you sure can tell how old THIS vid is....great song tho.

  • Se veía bien chiquito Bono en esos tiempos, vaya que si le sentó la edad!!!!!. I love Bono and U2

  • It´s a great song! Bono looks like Geedy Lee (from rush) on this videoclip! Hehehehe

  • One of the best songs I ever heard, one of my favorites from U2

  • heard this on the radio tonight at work, got me pumped. Just such a great song.

I actually read Bono isn't big on this song, felt it was unfinished and incomplete. I think he's over analyzing. Sure the lyrics are simple(first u2 song I memorized), but they're pretty to the point, and still fairly deep. Besides the song just sounds fantastic.

  • This song always makes me happy ( :

I dont even know why =p

  • i actually LOVE u2 so much, they define my life.

  • i dont know what could be of rock if u2 didnt exist

  • Back when U2 was still good.

  • amen

  • U2 still is good, the just have ups and downs like anyone.

  • I love U2 they have such a timeless sound to their songs.

  • ahhh great song

  • to me it's one of the most beautiful song of u2!

  • Im only 15 and I couldnt find the music I liked, my friends like rap, I then discovered U2, GNR, and other 80s hits. I can now say FUCK RAP!!!

  • how could've rock go on if U2 didn't exist

  • i dont quite get the message of this video....what up with the creepy kids watching bono!?!?!?!

    good song tho :)

  • classic!!

  • I freakin love U2

  • marcou minha adolescência sem dúvida

  • maybe, maybe not

  • wow ,anybody can say that God doesn't exist after ear this?

  • this is my all time favourite song!!!! I could listen to it for ages again and again and again...

i love how bono jumps from the stage in slow motion at 2:17, that reminds me of Dirty Dancing :D

  • stupid advertisement, universal can kiss my toenails

  • so it's like in catholic school i'd finally learned to get along w/ others and not play by myself as much as i could but then all my answers would be like personal stories related to what teaching like (so embarassing) snake story i'm all like "one time in my yard i was on my swing and a snake came up and i didn't know what to do w/ it".... like ikd 2nd grade but then they all like "that has nothing to do with what we're talking about" so i think more about my actions but not well enough.

  • Not a fan of U2 but I like this song. I have respect for Bono, as he's 1 of a few people who have a one of a kind singing voice!!

  • nice hair bono

  • IN THE NAME OF LOVE
