it's very touching and wish them all the best! But I can't help wondering why westerners are not interested in adopting Chinese baby boys? There is a huge gender inbalance in China and we are short of girls, why giving away to make the situation worse? I know Chinese girls are cute and everything, but Chinese boys need love too you know

In all of my years working with adoption, I have yet to meet a family who went through an adoption process in order to be "trendy." Families have chosen China's program because it has been one of the most ethical and transparent. As for "happyjack102"s comments, Holt understands that international adoption should be the last resort, taking place only after attempting to keep the biological family intact and then trying to find a permanent placement within the child's country of origin.

What does this agency do to alleviate the sense of loss these children will feel later in life - the loss of family, culture, language and heritage? Ask any adult transracial adoptee - these losses are REAL.
And what is wrong with the hundreds of thousands of foster kids right here in the US, kids who WANT a stable, permanent home, kids who NEED one and will not suffer additional grievous loss due to being adopted out of their culture.
Theese children DO have a family. I know children from other countries and they know what a gift they have been given. One child was adopted at age 10, she is gratefull..
Nothing is wrong with any child no matter where they are from. Have you ever tried to adopt in America? almost impossible. Chairity should begin at home? GOD loves all children, shouldn't we?.Just because they are not American doesn't mean they don't NEED. We are so blessed to have our girl.
can't stop crying....ahh
