Un pur plaisir cette chanson, Pour moi c'est la meilleure qu'elle ait chanté avec un rythme très agréable, on se laisse emmener.Malheureusement j'ai l'impression qu'en France on a oublié cette grande artiste qui a pourtant enchaîné de supers compositions ("promises in the dark", "fire and ice", "get nervous", "heartbreaker"...).
Her autobiography is a great read. She comes across as a pragmatic, smart and strong woman with a strong head on her shoulders. In other words, she's everything that her music portrays her to be. What a great, moving video, by the way - and an excellent song as well.
Pat is never far from social issues in her music. "Hell is for Children," "Love is a Battlefield," and "Somebody's Baby" are serious without being preachy, arrogant, or "look at me and how MUCH I CARE." Other than dominate the charts, is there anything this artist (yeah, I said artist) can't do?
This was one of those "right time, right place" songs for me. The lyrics and melody still hold a lot of emotion and memories for me, but I won't bore you with those. Suffice to say I'm grateful for this song and the incredible magic and feeling behind it....Absolutely one of Pat's best.
One of Pat's best--gorgeous melody, poignant lyrics, and as always, incredible vocals. No one can move from the gently operatic to sandpaper rock-and-rolling like Pat Benatar. She alone has that kind of dexterity and stylistic range.
@saltwatercb Look for the long play of "Here's my heart" from the remake of Metropolis by Georgio Moroder.A new digital copy is now out : the Metroplis Redux available on the web. It brings me to tears every time.
While I generally avoid '90s music, I do enjoy many '90s songs by '70s/'80s artists. They generally had better music than the new artists of that decade!
My favorite Pat Benatar song ! It's unfortunate that it's one of her least known songs to all but true fans of hers because lyrical and musically it's a thing of beauty. I feel very lucky to have seen her in concert over the years. Thanks for posting this .
I just let a guy who owes me money off the hook for one large on account of he "used to be..." (disclaimer, I actually have met his aged mother, which is to say, she puts a face on the "somebody")
I love this single.

This song is a hidden gem. People seemed to ignore her after the infamous swing album, but this is really good.

My favorite post-Tropico song. It's a shame it was lost during the grunge scene in the 90s. Thx 4 posting!

this song is pure emotion.
Thanks to Pat & Neil for recording it.
Few groups in the world are able to have such a song in their career.

But this song didn't come out until the early 90's, and I didn't think Pat was at Live Aid.

I remember seeing her sing this song at the live aid concert in 1985 for AIDS awareness. I love it!

Great song, and a very incredible video,
very moving. :(
But why is Pat dressed like Joni Mitchell? (See Joni's "Heijra" album cover, weird)
