Technology is licensed from its australian inventor of the idea, the design for the "conehead" helmet and the way is more effectively disperses impact force to the skull made it win the Invention of the year in Oz. Kali have a license in it.
I really cant wait till they build this dual layer cone tech into cycle helmets. I know we don't go as fast as you bikers, but our skulls are just about as thick (debatable:) and accidents happen.
If your in any doubt about the technology, go read the blog of the inventor, an Australian former road accident officer. He developed it after attending too many biker crashes where the helmet was still intact, but the riders skull...
@RevZillaTV Thanks for the response. I've been dealing with the length and clumsiness by keeping the ribbon fastened and loosening it slightly to remove my helmet. This saves some time but the metal buckles are still the real issue (as far as I can tell). The buckles secure the ribbon too tightly. Undoing the ribbon can be like untying a knot.
@RevZillaTV Other than ONE issue, this helmet has been solid. I'm having one issue with my Kali... Can you please tell me if this is a common issue or if there are known solutions?
The chin strap is extremely cumbersome. Even after taking off my gloves, t's a struggle to quickly loosen and open the chin strap. I've never had this issue with any my past helmets, so this is really frustrating. Also, the chin strap ribbon is excessively long.
@LetsFightingLove I just tried one on and I can definitely see that it is rather long. I'm wondering whether the length itself is causing the clumsiness in getting it strapped/unstrapped.
@RevZillaTV Given Kali's new showroom in Shanghai with DQX bikes and participation in the China cycle show, it is a pretty fair bet the helmet is made in China - thus the Chinese distribution. Designed in the US by a US company, though, and seems like a truly good product if they have good control of manufacture at the foreign factory.
@djentangle Actually the Protection Technology is the claim to fame on the Naza. The dual density eps liner with the "cones" (composite fusion plus) is touted to do a better job of managing energy than many helmets on the market. We are excited to eventually see the hurt test on it. It is ECE 2205 and DOT but not Snell 2010 for Clarification.
Are the shields (including the extra ones: mirror and dark smoke) fog free? How do they perform fogging wise?
koenigcitizen 1 month ago
@koenigcitizen They have an anti-fog coating and do a pretty decent job.

@RevZillaTV The red release tab does not work on this helmet. Very odd.

Where is the helmet made?

@crawl987 Kali doesn't provide any specific information other than to say that it is made overseas.

@RevZillaTV
I would love to try it for drag racing but all tracks require Snell. Do you know if they in the process of being approved, or why this one won't be?
InLucidReverie 2 months ago
@InLucidReverie Not too sure where they stand with SNELL certifications.
