What about that hard working drummer making one's head nod...and the bass man making one float?? and the sax making one hot? and that signature one drop(cha cha..cha cha cha cha...) that leaves no doubt that you are listening to true classic rockers. Lastly, Mutabaruka is a great force for messages as well.

Gives the tune some perspective and credits others that contributed to the sound. So more of that would be so welcome.
Browning has said it. How could Bob Marley be the best??? There is no such thing...He certainly was not the best singer in terms of voice? To name a few: Tenor Saw, Nitty Gritty, had smoother voices.. Ok..the message? What of Burning Spear, Israel Vibration, Steel pulse, Wailing souls...etc..and countless others.. and what about Bob Marley's band? the wailers..Without the band, the music would sound dead. I use to listen to Bob Marley eveyday, and what turned me off was all of the hype.
Well for me, artists such as Cornell Campbell, Johnny Clarke, Big Youth, U Roy, Black Uhuru, Junior Delgado, Alton Ellis, Slim Smith, Dennis Brown, John Holt etc etc, have had far more influence on my love of reggae music than Bob Marley ever could.
But musical taste is an individual thing, all I'm saying is that it is far bigger and wide ranging than Bob Marley alone.

paraffin heaters were standard, remember the patterns they would make in the celing when the lights were off. TOP DECK drinks, yere i remember those, and QUATRO. Serious tune.
yeah and you had to soak the wick for ages before you could light it! and they even had the metal carrying handle! so dangerous me and my brothers used to shrink crisp packets over the top of them! and you had to go and fill up at the petrol station or wait for the paraffin man to come down the road. memories
OMG, I can't believe there are other people out there who had to burn paraffin heaters in da hard times, man! Shout out to y'all. One house got burnt down in Goose Green South London cos of a paraffin heater.

Wondering if you mean Poor Mans Story by Ranking Dread. Released on the Live and Love label, but not a favourite tune for me.

paraffin heaters were standard, remember the patterns they would make in the celing when the lights were off. TOP DECK drinks, yere i remember those, and QUATRO. Serious tune.

yeah and you had to soak the wick for ages before you could light it! and they even had the metal carrying handle! so dangerous me and my brothers used to shrink crisp packets over the top of them! and you had to go and fill up at the petrol station or wait for the paraffin man to come down the road. memories

OMG, I can't believe there are other people out there who had to burn paraffin heaters in da hard times, man! Shout out to y'all. One house got burnt down in Goose Green South London cos of a paraffin heater.

loving your memories. I remember I used to have to look after my bros and sistas and the paraffin stove was burning YELLOW. I used have to take the damn paraffin pan to the petrol station and carry home a GALLON!
