@AlphaTek795 The things I like about Morrowind is that it never forced or compelled you to do the main quest. In fact, you were encouraged to go exploring and join the island's other factions. It had a better immersive feel to it as well. Everything else about the game was choppy and broken. Oblivion, on the other hand, felt forced upon. But it managed to make combat alot more streamlined.

Ahhh. As much as I love Skyrim, I feel like Oblivion had some kind of magical spark that Skyrim doesn't. It's conveyed by this music--floaty, kind of distant, like mist obscuring far mountains and strange caves. Skyrim is more guttural, harsh, realistic. I dearly love both games, but Oblivion's OST takes the cake, imo.
This was my first elder scrolls game. I instantly fell in love. I bought oblivion and I still find myself coming back to morrowind. I just can't get into oblivion like I do with morrowind.
I liked the Mages Guild of Morrowind a lot more than the Mages Guild of Oblivion and the College of Winterhold. I felt like I really had to work to be the Archmage in Morrowind, whereas in Oblivion and Skyrim, I was kind of just in the right place at the right time.
I love Oblivion more then Skyrim, in didnt got the feeling in skyrim that im part of the dark brotherhood or thiefs guild, just quest finished, byes..
Morrowind has the best soundtrack ever in the gaming industry,it's so emotional.Despite having "old" graphics i think it's the best game in elder scrolls series,having the best atmosphere and it's gameplay is a true R.P.G!
@ScooterUni YEA MAN! I'm finding the Skyrim soundtrack doesn't have as many notable "themes" as the other Elder Scrolls soundtracks; its a little more minimalist I guess. But it is a fantastic game.
@ScooterUni .. i was going through similar problems years ago, and i agree with you. i havent donated to anyone, but i understand why you did. immersing myself into Tamriel was kinda theraputic. games get such a bad wrap these days, but this is one example where its helped me stay strong when i might have given up in the real world. i suspect there may be many, many other ppl like you and i that have felt the same. anyway, cheers, and i hope to see you in the land of skyrim ;)
lol idd who wouldn't want to live in Tamriel, all the magic, the armors/swords, the roasting boars over open fire, the architecture, the monsters and wilderness, there's something pure about it, it's a way out of our grey boring shit society.

Wow.. I haven't heard Morrowind in a long time.. This makes me want to take my old xbox out of the closet and fire up some Morrowind.. I spend days and days, years playing this game... @GodsGirl4everPro Yeah, both Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and Elder Scolls IV: Oblivion are availabe for PC and Xbox...and you can buy them from "Steam", where you can buy all kinds of computer games digitally, or you can get them from Amazon as well ("Game of the year edition" that also includes all the expansion packs and bonus content) =)
Both of them are quite old games, Morrowind is 9 years old and Oblivion 5, so you dont need the most powerful computer to run them ^^

Well Im sure the Xbox360 is going to get a price-cut soon once again and the cheapest console with 4GB hard-drive you can find somewhere for under 200$, when the price cut comes the price could come down to 150$...ofcourse If you wish to buy it with Kinect and play Kinect games with the whole family, it's bit more expensive (my parents would actually want to get Kinect , but I told them it requires some space if you want to use it in living room ;D)

The 5th game in the Elder Scrolls series is going to be released in 2months from now...and it's gonna have dragons! (though most of them are hostile)

Yeah, like I said most of them are hostile, but not all...some are friendly from what I've heard and there propably are some quests where they are gonna help you (though I wonder if you actually get to fly one ;D).

Well Im kinda scared of hights too ( I would NEVER do Bungee jump, jump of a place or even do climbing)....But riding a dragon would be just so amazing....and im sure that Toothy wouldnt let you fall ^^....though he is the fastest of the dragons and can do some pretty crazy air stunts ;D

Sure, we see the characters and stuff on TV screens, but that's not the real flesh-and-bone thing. And God also says: I give you the desires of your hearts. And I cant help it, simply HAVE to play trough Morrowind and Oblivion again before moving on to Skyrim...I first played both games on Xbox, but this second time Im gonna do it on PC with all the best mods ofcourse ^^
@heyufool1 Same here...I wish I could just move and live the rest of my life there (or anywhere else in Tamriel)...and im not kidding :D. I never had enough of wondering trough the wilderness, trough the forests, fields, hills and lakes...The game world of Elder Scrolls is just so damn beautiful...and this fantastis music composed by Jeremy Soule (truly a musical genious) makes it even more glorious. Without this music Elder Scrolls wouldnt feel so magical experience.

Lol I made the ugliest guy ever... Fat face... Eyes were spread out farthest and pointed upward... Nose was curved up... nostrils were really fat... yeah he was ugly, but only because I made him like that... ANd then I made an epic char but he got vampire disease and I have already used all the grand soul gems I can find or they just have souls in them so I cant get the cure... Epic guy goes ugly because of being a vampire... but now I can eat anytime nom nom nom.

Morrowind felt inviting and adventurous with lots of hidden depth, but Oblivion felt like some dirty american rpg. It's weird because Morrowind is so broken and lacks polish where as Oblivion everything is tied up into a nice little package. Maybe Morrowind allowed the player to fill in the gaps with their imagination. Or maybe Morrowind was just the first, and anything after it felt like it was trying too hard.

Thank god for the elder scrolls series its people like this that dont care about money they only want to deliver you the best entertainment experience possible and for there hard work they get rewarded sure rich greedy people are still rich but then they wonder why on day there on there way to work and get killed in a car wreck....the moral of the story life is so much more than money sure we need it to live day to day but I have a saying an "artist is not paid for his labor but for his vision"
Every "Elder Scrolls" game is a gargantuan product of at least half a decade of heartfelt hard work, affecting and changing the RPG market, raising the bar every time. "Mass Effect" is incredibly awesome, but those 30 hours can never compare to a huge, free-roaming world you could spend 300 hours in on a single playthrough.
@nisus8 Ya i agree with you also mass effect is an amazing high quality game.....but it dones't have that impact that elders scroll leaves in it tracks mass effect are the greatest games off all time but it doesn't have the same heart and atmosphere that elder scrolls has i love oblivion so much theres no denieing that it on of the top ten games of all time Bethesda wont release a game unless it the highest quality possible unlike call of duty games that dont care about anything but money

@halo6534 Yeah I agree otherwise, but Elder Scrolls have had one weakness in my opinion...and that's the main storyline, it has been too short compared to all the other content and quests in the game and not even the most interesting part of the games. I know that's partly because Elder Scrolls are open-world games, unlike BioWare's games for example, but still I wish that the main storyline in Skyrim would be better and longer than it has been in Morrowind and Oblivion.
@Balnazzardi Its not gonna be at gamescom he said that the main quest will take you around 20 to 25 hours.......but in all honestly i did the main quest last in the games. haha cause i would get side tracked by all the amazing side quests and guild and just staring off into the horizon and looking at this beautiful hand crafted world that i was in. Oblivion is truely a work of art and i really hope skyrim brings back the great memories i had playing oblivion. And fallout 3 was mindblowing also.

the music in fable 1 and 2 make up for the shitty quality in 1 and fugly characters in 2. but ho my gawd the graphics in fable 2 for the scenery and such...I literally started crying at the utter beauty of Oakfield!! <3

@GodsGirl4everPro Yeah, both Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and Elder Scolls IV: Oblivion are availabe for PC and Xbox...and you can buy them from "Steam", where you can buy all kinds of computer games digitally, or you can get them from Amazon as well ("Game of the year edition" that also includes all the expansion packs and bonus content) =)
Both of them are quite old games, Morrowind is 9 years old and Oblivion 5, so you dont need the most powerful computer to run them ^^

Well Im sure the Xbox360 is going to get a price-cut soon once again and the cheapest console with 4GB hard-drive you can find somewhere for under 200$, when the price cut comes the price could come down to 150$...ofcourse If you wish to buy it with Kinect and play Kinect games with the whole family, it's bit more expensive (my parents would actually want to get Kinect , but I told them it requires some space if you want to use it in living room ;D)

The 5th game in the Elder Scrolls series is going to be released in 2months from now...and it's gonna have dragons! (though most of them are hostile)

Yeah, like I said most of them are hostile, but not all...some are friendly from what I've heard and there propably are some quests where they are gonna help you (though I wonder if you actually get to fly one ;D).

Well Im kinda scared of hights too ( I would NEVER do Bungee jump, jump of a place or even do climbing)....But riding a dragon would be just so amazing....and im sure that Toothy wouldnt let you fall ^^....though he is the fastest of the dragons and can do some pretty crazy air stunts ;D

Sure, we see the characters and stuff on TV screens, but that's not the real flesh-and-bone thing. And God also says: I give you the desires of your hearts. Who else remembers the first time they killed someone in this game and then the dark brother hood come in your sleep...... great times great game first time i played it i figured eh maybe 15 hours tops......that wasn't even close i spent the next year doing every quest and dungeon and having the best time of my life this game helped me threw tough times in my life thank god for Bethesda oh and then after i put 150 hours into it shvering isles came out :D

Lol I made the ugliest guy ever... Fat face... Eyes were spread out farthest and pointed upward... Nose was curved up... nostrils were really fat... yeah he was ugly, but only because I made him like that... ANd then I made an epic char but he got vampire disease and I have already used all the grand soul gems I can find or they just have souls in them so I cant get the cure... Epic guy goes ugly because of being a vampire... but now I can eat anytime nom nom nom.

Morrowind felt inviting and adventurous with lots of hidden depth, but Oblivion felt like some dirty american rpg. It's weird because Morrowind is so broken and lacks polish where as Oblivion everything is tied up into a nice little package. Maybe Morrowind allowed the player to fill in the gaps with their imagination. Or maybe Morrowind was just the first, and anything after it felt like it was trying too hard.

Thank god for the elder scrolls series its people like this that dont care about money they only want to deliver you the best entertainment experience possible and for there hard work they get rewarded sure rich greedy people are still rich but then they wonder why on day there on there way to work and get killed in a car wreck....the moral of the story life is so much more than money sure we need it to live day to day but I have a saying an "artist is not paid for his labor but for his vision"

Every "Elder Scrolls" game is a gargantuan product of at least half a decade of heartfelt hard work, affecting and changing the RPG market, raising the bar every time. "Mass Effect" is incredibly awesome, but those 30 hours can never compare to a huge, free-roaming world you could spend 300 hours in on a single playthrough.

@halo6534 Yeah I agree otherwise, but Elder Scrolls have had one weakness in my opinion...and that's the main storyline, it has been too short compared to all the other content and quests in the game and not even the most interesting part of the games. I know that's partly because Elder Scrolls are open-world games, unlike BioWare's games for example, but still I wish that the main storyline in Skyrim would be better and longer than it has been in Morrowind and Oblivion.

@Balnazzardi Its not gonna be at gamescom he said that the main quest will take you around 20 to 25 hours.......but in all honestly i did the main quest last in the games. haha cause i would get side tracked by all the amazing side quests and guild and just staring off into the horizon and looking at this beautiful hand crafted world that i was in. Oblivion is truely a work of art and i really hope skyrim brings back the great memories i had playing oblivion. And fallout 3 was mindblowing also.
