  • Yes, hands down the FASTEST but certainly not the best. For me, this is an example of how playing something faster than anyone else, just because you can, does the piece no service. The speed here makes hash of many of the musical relationships which go by the wayside, and instead of inexorable power, it becomes mere banging in places, and indistinct blur or jumble in others. I'm a fan of Pollini, but not here.

  • Nice, but 1:47 sounds just like music from Zelda - Link to the past lol

  • prokofiev was into jazz haha

  • Ok... This is the first song in Gran Turismo 5... and the other song?

  • @94ruken94 Planetary Go by My Chemical Romance. Nice to see I'm not the only one here because of Gran Turismo

  • @S7r0ng3r Honestly, we must recognize that the two songs sound good together. Thanks you.

  • Well

  • This piece is immensely epic!

  • Omgg- the end is soooooooo amazing :O

  • very well articulated but the left hand ostinato doesnt really stand out to me

  • This is my brain in school.

  • Where can I get the score / sheet music?

  • gran turismo 5....

  • would this be a good piece for first diploma?

  • O nooo i crash my GTR

  • the person who disliked this video must slipped his hand.

  • @GisMollity i would hope that is the case.

  • I have recorded this Precipitato and uploaded it today to my channel. It's obviously not as good as Pollini's but... It's worth watching. Enjoy :)

  • @mdc396 I know a few beatboxers in Europe who perform in 7/8 time.

  • As if anyone writes anything in 7/8!

  • thumbs up if you heard this on gran turismo 5 intro!

  • Is this from the GT5 intro?

  • @MegaDutchTutorials yes, but in GT5 this is played by Lang Lang.

  • @F14Lolcat aha. ok thx!

  • @F14Lolcat Ok thx , i nowd that this song has something with Lang Lang. But my friend say'd that is was composed by Lang Lang

  • I think that Pollini is one of the few who has understood that this is NOT "jazz" but terror.

  • @roberthayesfilms Precisely. There is a big difference between neoclassical music and jazz music.

  • @roberthayesfilms exactly

  • Penso che Pollini sia uno dei pochi che abbia capito che questo NON è "jazz" ma terrore.

  • Jesus, people. Watch the clip Argerich playing this. It's EPIC.

  • @Litawyn It is good but not as good or as clean as Pollini's.

  • ....molto bello!!!

  • @zorsmobile I totally agree w u. I'm working on this too. I can play everything well except for the last two pages. Sometimes it sounds good, and sometimes it just fails.

  • I'm working on this piece right now and I literally don't understand how he can be that perfect on the finale with the speed he takes it at. The rest of it is very playable at that tempo but the ending two pages you just have to shut your eyes and pray to god that it comes out properly...

  • OMG!! I am SO glad I found you uploads. You have scores I can't get in my little town. Now all i have to do is find a piano. . .

  • Does anyone know where can I find a free sheet music from this piece? btw awesome performance!

  • @markopianist imslp.org.

  • I think they used this version in GT5's intro. No way any other human being can play it so CRAZY fast...

  • @KafeinBE GT5's pianowork is from Lang Lang, the intro music is slower than this. Something good, because i would like to see what the intro is about, with this pace i just would see a blur on screen..

  • @KafeinBE It also says who plays it - Lang Lang.

  • How am I ever going to play this song I play soo much slower than him :(

  • @pickachukabalooie Meh too..!! D:

  • is there such thing as Classical Metal music?

  • @wiithepeople2 Hahahaha Ikr.??

  • SOOOOO FAST NEW WORLD RECORD WHOS WITH ME

  • Gran Turismo 5 anyone?

  • @Lazl0ow right on!

Thumbs up so others can see this.

  • The best of all interpretations of this precipitato all times.

  • where could i get this sheet music?

  • @bullet50000 you could go to imslp.org and look it up.

  • Electrifying. Incredible, powerful performance!!!

  • Wow.........this is rhythmically very tricky.

  • Too short. But wonderful nonetheless.

  • date of the record???

  • this is absolutely fucking amazing!

this might be the best use of dynamics I've ever heard!

  • Absolutely!!! I bought this version when I was 12 years old, and today it remains my absolute favorite of all times. It's like a miracle!

  • Electrifying! It's amazing what the human mind can process, and what the hands and fingers are capable of doing ...

  • Is there any other recording of this that comes even vaguely close to Pollini? Not that I've heard. Just astonishing.

  • I love the melody in the left hand at 1:23 that repeats later.

  • WOW

  • Hands down, the BEST version of this finale I have ever heard. Amazing.

  • @bersa888 Sokolov's is sick as hell too, check it out ------->

  • @bersa888 I agree with you most positively entirely. Love the movement too.

  • @bersa888 horowitz...

  • Pollini: my hero ! :)
