whoever says this is Useful, dont really know what there talkin bout............im a Very gifted Martial Artist....AND, a VERY gifted Boxer..(VERY skilled and gifted)/. And you can Actually use this in Boxing....in fact, its VERY similar to a Boxing move / movements.
Its like Weaving a Punch in boxing...accept ur adding a Foot/leg pivot in the Middle of the technique. Its VERY useful (if you already have great footwork). This move can Set you up to land all KINDS of MAGNIFICENT moves.
Do this in a real fight and you will have yo' ass handed back to you. If you want learn really fast with less dedication since the lot of us don't have the true dedication for The real Kung Fu training, pick up a USMC hand to hand training manual. There is some REALLY good practical shit in there. Lot of it has Bruce Lee's wisdom and JKD derivative w/o the speed training. And have a tough willing sparring partner.
useless. wingchun is the best way to defend and attack punches. Sidesteps are too slow unless your reaction time is superhuman and even then your legs don't move faster then hands let alone your body. More applicable fighting is wingchun bjj and itf tkd for kicks. Wing chun for punching superiority. Bjj for ground work. itf tkd for kicking speed and reaction time. Then just a simple knowlege of pressure points.
Aye Wing Chun Is the best for defending against punches assuming you don't know what your opponent plans to do. While i don't particularly care for non reactive martial arts myself i do understand the principle is not to react, but to consider your stance and attempt to outhink the opponent. as in. well my head is open and he's got a good shot at it. betcha i konw whats coming next. Not particularly my cup of tea, but lmat00l people DO study this to the point where they CAN use it. *shrug*
Wel i do not agree with that because, in real fight under stress condition you won't be able to hit pressure points. And spinning kicks wil be like killing yourself when figthing multiple opponents. Most martial arts is fun to watch but it doesn't work in a real scrap. because the rea; techniques of those martial arts are lost over the ages
