Hi Agnetha...Most of the music that I use comes from CD's that I've put into my computer, others come from very good friends who have the songs I don't have. I've built a rather large library of ABBA music, and most if not all, of their solo music as well. You'll find most of their popular stuff available thru downloads, but most of their early music has to be purchased and can get quite expensive!
Jim, Thanks for sharing this great song, It sounds just as beautiful as the english version, perhaps a ltle better. Her voice is so sweet that even if you don't understand the lyric , we can enjoy the amazing voice of Agnetha, Take care Jim.
Yes, and so are the lyrics opposite, written by Bjorn, MrZ. It would be nice to know what Bosse Carlgren's Swedish lyrics meant. I obviously missed the heated debate over the lyrics that happened here. Guys, they were written by 2 different people! They are bound to be different - like the Eng/Swed Fernando (Bjorn vs Stig). Can we have the Swedish translation back - please? :)
Okay people, I'll just remove the translations and that will be that! All I was trying to do was give people some lyrics so they could at least kind of get a relatable feeling between "Mina Ögon and the English version "Disillusion", This wasn't intended to become debate land over lyrics!
the english lyrics of disillusion was not directly translated from english to swedish word for word or verbatimly. the theme of a relation going down the drain was kept however. i guess that's what cuddlebabe was trying to express, but not so eloquently.
hey guys...agnetha writes basically all the lyrics in all her self-penned tunes. as far as her collasboration with bosse carlgren, agnetha writes down a guide lyrics or a theme, then bosse elaborates on it or just polishes it.
Hi here's my view on this. Disillusion and Mina Ogon have the same music, composed by Agnetha. The lyrics for Disillusion were written by Bjorn Ulvaeus in English in 1973. The lyrics for Mina Ogon were written by Bosse Carlgren in 1975. You're right the Swedish lyrics are not a translation of the English lyrics, as far as I can see.
Mina ogon is the Swedish version of Dissilusion. It's from Agnetha's 1975 album "Elva Kvinnor I Ett Hus" (Eleven Women In The House). Agnetha wrote all the songs herself, except for S.O.S, w/help from Bjorn. Bosse Carlgren wrote all the lyrics for this album. Please understand that I'm not trying to be mean, I just know a lot on this subject. If I'm being mean I apologize, I don't mean to be. You can go to any site that posts song lyrics.
Well, since you seem to know everything, why don't you send me the lyrics to the song if you can translate Swedish to English. They have basically the same meaning, but there are times when Swedish can be a little hard to translate into English, but i'll be waiting for those lyrics! Oh, and just so you know, "Disillusion" is the English version of "Mina Ogon"!!
I can't find them yet, but I just know that bcoz How can "My eyes" mean the same thing as "Disillousion" It is obvious 2 most ppl that "Disilousion" means sad, upset, hurt, frustrated fed up etc... Since when did "My eyes" mean any of those?!
Wow, that´s great. I´ve never knew that there´s a swedish version of "Disillusion". Was it actually a solo song of her? I know that she wrote the text. But I thought she only wrote the english version. So what was release first: The english or the swedish version.
Mina Ogon was co-written by Aggy, Bjorn, and Bosse Carlgren and released in 1975 on "Elva Kvinnor i Ett Hus". Disillusion was written by Aggy and Bjorn and was released on the "Ring Ring" album in 1973. So to answer your question, The english version.
Jim, I have no idea what Agnetha is singing, but it makes no difference when I hear her voice! She has a voice that sounds great in any language! You are the greatest too...I love your vids! Thanks for all you do to keep ABBA alive for all us fans!
In the upper right hand box, beside the word Mina Ogen. Click on the word "more". This will give you the translations to most of my vids that are in Swedish. The english version of this song is called "Dissolusion"
Imagine back in 1975, this 14 year old boy was first introduced to the wonderful sounds of Abba, and there she was, so beautiful and could sing like an angel. This love affair has lasted 32 years and counting! Thank you.
Would'nt that be outstanding! I think they have to perform if they get inducted, am I right? Oh, by the way, they got passed up again this year! These people don't understand what their missing apparently. Think of the fan response. It would be WILD!

No, I'm done trying to convince you.

Those lyrics aren't the lyrics to Mina Ogon, they're the lyrics to Disilousion. Mina Ogon apparently means My eyes.

Speaking of unplugged
A little acoustic set would suit them these days. Maybe we will see it if they get that spot in the RnR Hall of Fame they richly deserve
