In the end when they all exchange gifts, they worry about Pinkie who has no gifts at all but she tells them not to worry because she only asked for their happiness and the song then plays :)

This song grew on me fast, and it actually makes me feel better to hear that it's most likely not a hoax, and that the worst that might happen is tarnished reputation involving the contracted studio.

I agree that it's very elaborate, perhaps too much to be used in an upcoming episode. It sounds like they might try to release a CD. Drawing a comparison some have made to animé, it does sound like it could be used as a character theme.
