You can tell from their body language that these men weren't looking to battle, yes two men had AK's but they're just casually swinging them around. Then they say there's an RPG when that is clearly NOT an RPG and if they were trying to fire a an RPG at them why is that when the helicopter circled around did none of the Iraqis try to take cover or even pay any attention to it? And then shooting a van full of unarmed civilians that are just trying to help a dying man, there is no excuse for that.

The TADS viewing system on the apache has a lot of range on it. and based on the time it took for the rounds to hit the area, from when they were fired. They were a good mile away from the area when they engaged.
