I'm so glad I found this video. I just bought 2 of these marvelous katydid's but I Am looking what they eat. I have given them bramble leaf. What do you feed them?
I have just one specimen and now I am looking for either juvenile specimens or their eggs. Is there a possibillity that you send some to me? I live in Holland by the way.

@madv14 the spike is probably the ovipositor, meaning whatever it was it was a female.

We don't get these in Scotland. We get green or brown shield bugs though.

@IndigoCat17 It's a Katydid, they look like leaves, leaf bug is a general term for many insects.

I have these all over my yard and they spend most of their time in the apple and pear tress, aspen and locust trees...

i found one in my driveway.
my sister thought is was rare,untill it jumped on me.i killed it with a broom, but the thing took ke 4 tries:)
