@slavetothestix2 Black has some very impressive knowledge of different rudiments that he applies to metal, along with an ambidextrous style, great stamina, great showmanship tricks for live entertainment, I don't see many drummers that play like he does. Sounds pretty creative to me. Haters gonna hate.
@halodemo65 im not trying to be an argumentative dick, but alot of original metal could be played with one bass pedal and the idea for two bass drums came from jazz. Definetly the more extreme genre's of metal that have emerged today couldnt be played without a double bass pedal, but in its roots, metal was more like heavy rock.
im not a metal fan. especially not a fan of metal drummers. i dont know if its because im a couple of months out of practice and havnt been watching so much drumming because of it or not but i liked everything i heard in this video
@Synetik4 for some generic metal drummers thats true. jason bittner is different though, as he takes all varying musical style from around the worlkd and incorporates them into his playing.
@Synetik4 There are actually hard metal songs(alot of them). The bands that are more popular have pretty basic drumming actually. I suppose you should check out Car Bomb, Spawn of Possession, Meshuggah, Animals as Leaders and bands like that out. And Benny Greb is a killer drummer as well, just that it's another genre of music than metal and should not be compared to metal drummers.
why hit with your sticks so hard? it slows you down and outbalances the feet

Metal actually wouldn't exist without the double bass pedal. Or the idea to use two bass drums.
