The blue lanes are proving to be a death trap. You're cycling along & suddenly you're dumped onto a three lane junction, & the blue paint disappears just when you really need it. The recent spate of tragic, unnecessary deaths on the superhighway has unfortunately highlighted this danger. TFL have blood on their hands.
Great video ... I am going to visit london and i have a doubt about the monthly plan of tube, overground and dlr .If a make a monthly plan in zones 1-3 ,does that mean it covers zone 1 ,2 and 3? and does it includes national rail at this zones? thank you
The blue Bike lanes are to wide for London, Trucks Vans & even Cars have to drive in them to avoid oncoming traffic. It gives the Cyclist a false sense of security, & will be tempted to ride side by side in pairs & over take slower Cyclist.
Like this idea a lot because I am cycling everywhere I can but why only Big cities like London invest lots of money in ideas like that. What about other cities?
This is one of the best transport initiatives in London in a long time. Hope this won't end after the rail companies will start pressing the government with their lobby in order to discourage people from cycling and so take away their profits. My respect to whoever initiated it. I bought a new expensive bike because of the new cycle route from Merton (where I live) to City.
"this is somewhere where motorists can expect to find cyclists, and motorists can't just shovel the cycles out of their way".... unlike on all the other roads eh Boris? Motorists can continue to shovel there, and should react with such outraged surprise at the presence of a cyclist that they are forced to treat them like scum and try to run them down.
