I go to Japan a couple times a year and every time I go I enjoy whale meat at least a couple times. Very, very good... Look at that deep red meat, mmmm makes my mouth water. Plenty of whale to harvest these days... Unfortunately we can't get it in the US... And they never enjoy fresh whale beef. How can they get fresh whale beef from Antarctica to Japan in less than 24 hours ? Whale beef needs to be ultra fresh.

When whale beef is ultra fresh, it looks very similar to bovine beef.

It tastes similar but not the same as regular beef.

Anything you can use beef for you can use whale. I am of course talking about the best whale beef cuts, not the poor cuts or the fat.

Whale beef is very lean and free of fat.

It's more tender than beef and has a slightly game taste. If you crossed Moose with reindeer you would spot-on.

Put it this way, if i served you a whale burger, you wouldn't know...

Touching food with your bare hands is not horribly low standard at all. I mean, if that was a real professional fish monger, he'd wash his hands after major contact with food to non-food and vice versa. Now if he were using plastic gloves one can't assure that the box the gloves were held in was washed at all, or whether they were contaminated before he put them on. With that said, who has seen anyone wash a box of gloves?

With my experience in the restaurant industry, making sure your hands are fit to make bare contact with food is a far better policy than using wasteful safegaurds that only give a false sense of security.

People wear them and become careless with things they touch, or they reuse gloves, or they don't wash their hands once the gloves come off, all because they think nothing's bad got through plastic. this is on top of the fact that they're a waste of money, they're at times cumbersome, and they're plastic.

Gloves aren't entirely useless, they're alright only if you can keep clean with them. But I hate this assumption that just because people wear gloves they're have cleaner standards.
