I respect VF as a legitimate fighter in the hardcore genre. My only gripe with it?? Too boring. It's like a sim. All the other fighters have awesome camera angles, unrealistic moves and cinematic swoops which are more worth my money. VF is just kick punch......with strategy,. No thanks. Thats boring. I dont play sims. I play video games.

The only problem I have with VF is that the voice acting is terrible. El Blaze is the worst of the characters. Turn on the commentary option for even more bad acting. VF needs better English localization.

Unfortunately it doesn't support online play for the PS3. It's based on an older version that the Xbox one; which being the newer version is online playable. ( I know you asked this question a long time ago, I write this for anyone new reading this post) It's still a fun game and now very cheap! :)

Popularity has nothing to do with quality in this case. Virtua Fighter 1/2 were Saturn games and only a handful of people owned that console. Everyone owned a Playstation and Tekken was pretty much the only 3D-fighter for that system. That's why Tekken has such a big fanbase. There's a LOT of people who prefer the realistic approach of VF compared to Tekken. Not to mention the more strategic and balanced gameplay.

If I must compare the two, I must conclude that Tekken is a bit better in making the attacks just that better coordinated and the amount of damage just that bit more balanced for it to make the fights more action-packed.

But you're absolutely right in one way, that VF is also a great game, and I must take what I just posted back. I love to play with Lei Fei in VF just as much as I love to play with Steve in Tekken.

totally agree, I've been a tekken fan since i was young n simply bcoz it was easy to play back then. Now I'm older and more into realistic martial arts so that includes realistic fighting games. I've fallen in love with virtua fighter bcoz of how realistic it is.

It's very challenging to master it just as how real martial arts are.

Fights can end very quickly just as in real life.

I still like Tekken but now I'm more into VF then any other game
