All those arctic explorers from the past that left their lives or limbs at these once unattainable places would probably role in their graves to know that one of the most popular and respected feats is nowadays is reduced to market a car model...is there anything nowadays that doesn't imply the publicity of a product? Sure,it used to be nationalism in the past, but this is ridiculous. I'll be damned if I ever buy this car.
@sendittobryce i saw a later episode of the show and the crew had the exact same vehicle and set up, they used that one to go to the edge of a volcano
Very impressive 4 wheelin that Toyota is a stout truck for an import I am very partial to Ford F series 4x4 Diesel trucks but of I were to confided a truck of that size I would chose that Toyota
what if its windy, (tracks erase) its blizzard covers car and gas depletes because they were flooring it in a snow drift and got stuck and batteries for sattelight phone die
ehh both i do live an hr from chicago but i got a ton of land its just that since i dont have nice trucks me and my buddies always get stuck so we leave it to the dirt bikes lol
@davo16747 Then u fight for your life like i did!! I Live on a farm and my dumbass drove home in a blizzard!! North Dakota Thing!! IDK, but there was zero visability and i couldnt see my gravel road anymore and got stuck!! I was supposed to fill up before i left but forgot, so i had under 1/4 tank. I bundled with everything i had.A beanie and two left handed gloves. and started walking. I made it to the neighbors farm 1.5 mile away and It was 65 below with wind chill!! frostbite and froze lungs!
the reason why we choose tyres over tracks in arctic areas is because track systems are too slow and use alot more fuel as the gearing ration within the track systems is not efficient.
if they could be engineered to give better fuel efficiency, more durable on paved roads & and didn't cost as much as the vehicle itself! then we might use tracked systems.
Jeeps dont need anything either , just basic maintainance my friend has a Jeep with 200,000 miles on it and its runs probably better than your toyo. toyo's are cheap . my friend made the mistake of getting a toyo truck the transmission cracked open the secong month ,POS
Well that wasn't what i was trying to point out. You could get any truck put fox shocks on it and drive in the desert then its automaticly a "adverse terrain" thats what you are trying to say. The ford raptor isnt anything special and they have problems downshifting. Its just a F150 with Fox Shocks a brush guard and a super charger big fucking deal.
Wrong fucktard. The electronics systems are the first of its kind in an American made vehicle of this sort. Literally every mechanical (suspension- body) aspect of the Raptor has been designed for off-roading: including the Fox shocks designed along side with Ford. Ford trannies are typically bullet proof, not sure where you got that slipping deal. The Raptors do NOT have superchargers. They come with the 5.4L Triton..and coming in the new year the 6.2L "Boss" V8. Try again, faggot.
Ok lets see my friend that has the same truck as i has the same problems as ive had his locks wont work and his odometer stop working. I had to re gear my transmission TWICE. The Raptor is a wanna be trophy truck that is over priced with the mods that are on it. it weights a fuck load and it will never get through the shit that these trucks to. So shut the fuck up and try to prove a point to someone who cares about a faggot (YOU) on the internet.
You've just went through a slurry of text and came up with zero valid points. Also, it's not spelled "weights". Your last "sentences" made no sense. Try again.
And what point is that? That you are a fucking loser trying to start internet arguments? Oh shit MR Grammar here! You are only a internet RAMBO that hides behind a keyboard but isn't man enough to say it in person. It's already been proven that American vehicles are shit because all of the companies been bankrupt. Like you said "try again"
You are the one who started it and used the "shut the fuck up" "Faggot" terms which are repetitive and over used terms that internet rambos (like yourself) use. You might make friends if you grow up and stop acting like a 13 year old Jr High Kid that discovered these words for the first time.
You keep saying the same thing over and over. I've disproved you over and over. I'm done. If I were such an internet "rambo" I would not be blocking you. :) Have a good one, guy-who-is-a-ricer-sympathizer. =)
Toyota trucks are and have always been the best. My 11 year old 110,000 mile Toyota has never had any problems and has never needed anything outside of routine maintainance. They're easy to maintain and can be kept going without much effort at all. American cars on the other hand require relatively frequent replacement of big ticket things like engines and transmissions over the same time and mileage. I don't know anyone with a ford or chevy with as many miles who didnt need to change either
Days with a windchill can drop as low as -50 in January.
I had a diesel GM one winter, and It left me in the cold so many times because it either needed to be warmed up and stored indoors, or plugged in with battery blankets just to get it to turn over. The transmission failed, and engine was garbage. I sold it and bought a NEW Chevy S10 ZR2 and the transmission needed to be replaced 6 TIMES in 1 MONTH! GM products SUCK!!!! Let'em drown.
Any diesel has troubles starting in cold whether- ESPECIALLY whether THAT cold. Replaced the transmission 6 times in 1 month? That's a load of bullshit, my friend. If you're going to make up stories, at least make them believable.
Russians have some special diesel, Russian army, I know, we bought it from them, that sustains any cold weather, any means what it can get ( minuses in winter ) here in Serbia.. ( up to - 20 C )...
It's just treated fuel. You can get treatment for diesel here in America, too. The engine itself is still going to have a tough time starting, though, regardless of the fuel treatment, because the combustion process in a diesel is based purely off heat from the large amount of compression they have.
I'm all for supporting our economy but I really think that Toyota has beat out American auto manufacturers. American cars are expensive to buy, they break down more and cost a lot to repair. Toyota builds HIGH quality cars that are very efficient. Cheap, last forever, inexpencive to repair, they're truly great vehicles.
CANdigB you have no idea? Simple, American car manufactuerer sucks. Japanese car production emphasis on engineering a lot. That is one of the reasons why ppl buy a lot of Toyota's instead of ford etc.. Its a simple observation. Japanese cars dont break down very often because they engineered to perfection and they are fuel economy. Compared to North America, cars are heavy, and likes fuel, and it has a tendency to break down after several years. NA arent built for long lasting life where Jap are
magick does that make a difference because it was manufactured in USA? No it wont make a difference. All the assembly line of Toyota in North America follows the same design as they did in Japan.
That was sarcasm at its finest, relax I'm a Toyota owner for a reason!!! Sorry for the confusion. Thats why there is a question mark at the end of that sentence.
rude your comment was as useless as those people who say American cars are better than Japanese. There are still many old toyotas running, you just dont see a lot because your not realizing reality. Second, American cars that are old have horrible engine sounds. Third all your comment is self contradictory, replacing old chevy with new parts is the same as getting a new truck and that doesnt make it originally old. Before you say something is BS, your comment is BS.
You dont see old 'jap' trucks cause in NA they weren't sold until much later (People and their incessant brand Loyalty). whereas across asia and europe they are known to be some of the toughest vehicles. (where NA trucks werent sold because well... they couldnt compete)
i'll admit toyota made a good truck but my cummins is great i was impressed how well it started and ran at -40 C up here in canada and it can go though alot of snow too
Dont forget Landrover LR3 (Discovery3) and Range Rover are still pretty good. And the LR Defender is the daddy of all 4x4's and still the most hardcore, dedicated offroaer. Fit the same high-lift suspention and it will be just as good if not better. I suppose the Toyota will have a better nterior than a Land Rover Defender,
With all respect for the Defender(the only LR that can handle offroad at all), is not in the same legue even if it looks like a tractor. The engine, suspension and drivetrain cant handle any real offroad or hardcore snow driving. You cant change axles all the time and the eninge must start.I know a thing or two about both Defenders and the car in this video and Im telling you, a LR engine wont do the job in those conditions.
I think its a travesty that the finish of Team Dog was not shown. A Fan of Top Gear and a fan of cars I may be, but those dogs, unlike the truck were not the best in the world. 4)Chevy Suburban(SUV with urbanized spec=no good)
