I prefer PCs, but I'm not saying Macs are bad. They're pretty good computers, but it bothers me when people think they're the absolute best computers out there. Before you make a matter-of-fact statement like that, why don't you learn a thing or two about the inter-workings of computers, and not just how pretty they are on the outside.
This is a great video. It is very helpful to anyone who wants to learn to use a Mac. I have been a PC user since MS DOS. I am only now trying to use Mac's. Your videos are very straight forward and informative. Thanks. You saved me a ton of research!

@gameteacher101 easier he's using OSX Tiger here and Apple have released two versions since then. We're currently at Snow Leopard and it's one of the simplest, most user friendly Operating Systems out there. There is a tiny learning curve cause of how different things are to Windows, but once past that it's fast (incredibly fast) and simple. you'll find yourself sitting bored more often cause the things that used to take you 5 minutes now take 5 seconds.

I have a quick question for you: I just ordered a Macbook today, and when it gets here, I want to transfer my pictures, music, and videos onto from my PC Laptop. What would be the best way to do this without going to a Genius Bar, since the nearest Apple store to me is 6 hours away.
plug it into the mac and start up iphoto and import the base folder it will figure it all out and sort the photos by date in different events.
run itunes and point it to the same base folder and it will troll all the subdirectories (like iphoto will do for photos) and import the music and videos much of the time get the album art work and song names etc automatically assuming you are on line. Some movies may need transcoding.

@obanr - Good for you. I'm glad your one of the lucky PC users who doesn't have viruses (at least that you are aware of). Guess what, not everyone is as smart as you. I sell thousands of computers a year and most people who are new to Macs do not easily understand the user interface if they have been using PCs for years. We aren't talking about power users here, but moms and pops and everyday folks. Most people find this video helpful.

I have been a PC user all me life its been frustrating stupid in every way not so user friendly louder & way more annoying, allot more messy cords, crashes all the time, takes up too much space in my room, and when it was new it was a $2000 gaming computer and the only thing it is decent at is playing games. I cannot wait until i get my first mac! its gonna be an 20" Imac ill be soo happy!

@gameteacher101 easier he's using OSX Tiger here and Apple have released two versions since then. We're currently at Snow Leopard and it's one of the simplest, most user friendly Operating Systems out there. There is a tiny learning curve cause of how different things are to Windows, but once past that it's fast (incredibly fast) and simple. you'll find yourself sitting bored more often cause the things that used to take you 5 minutes now take 5 seconds.

I have a quick question for you: I just ordered a Macbook today, and when it gets here, I want to transfer my pictures, music, and videos onto from my PC Laptop. What would be the best way to do this without going to a Genius Bar, since the nearest Apple store to me is 6 hours away.

I would copy my documents to a usb drive
plug it into the mac and start up iphoto and import the base folder it will figure it all out and sort the photos by date in different events.
run itunes and point it to the same base folder and it will troll all the subdirectories (like iphoto will do for photos) and import the music and videos much of the time get the album art work and song names etc automatically assuming you are on line. Some movies may need transcoding.

then from the menu choose file.. new screen recording (if you have a 27" imac it will be very HD :-))
then load it up in imovie and crop it and and background music etc

Thanks alot for a great non jargon video. You explained how i could use my mac book alot better i was a little desperate as i have just moved from windows and i can see that mac is a whole lot better to work with i tried your bluetooth part out with my mobile phone my km900 arena and i could not beleive the speed or how easy it was to swap files over and no errors like i used to get on windows Vista. could you please do some more tutorials and thanks again

@MaoiMeowi2 you'd be surprised how many windows users who have switched have a hard time getting use to a mac and learning the difference which sometimes involves the older crowd.
how about this-you're never going to learn how to use a computer unless you actually try to use it and read the manual that comes with them. besides there are tons of tutorials out on youtube, and apple stores have a free basic class for those who might want to switch.

OSX is probably the fastest, most intuitive OS out there (especially compared to Windows) and you're not stupid for switching from Windows. You're smart. Hi, my boyf bought me a mac cos he loved the look of it and i HATE it! for a start it won't pick up on my broadband key (3) and now i'm looking through it wonderin where the hell are all my office programmes! is it possible i don't have any?! my laptop is about to KO but i still use it cos the mac pisses me off, and i'd rather throw it out the window than go near it at this point! help! its a mac os x..
