ABRA CA BOOGER!! I LOVE BLOGG!!! I am sure that part of the reason he is different is to show diversity and that being different and not specifically "sweet" looking is OK and that he is still funny and nice to be around. Blogg is hilarious to my 2 year old, my husband and myself!

I know this is strange for me to say but, I know Blogg is a fairy but, I wonder why he looks like a troll on the outside when Abby and Gonnigan just look like young kids who are young fairies.

(In my opinion, it can been scary for a fairy like Blogg who looks half troll to have the teeth sticking out when I'm used to seeing fairies having a sweet loving face without the teeth sticking out). Unless maybe there have been some stories with some fairies who look half troll that I have not read which is why Blogg is half troll.

Quick technical question: what power source does Abby's school run on? Fusion power, cold fusion, maybe it runs on a new fairy dust blend? Or does it use a new type of singularity to power it, or a kind of zero point field source?

PS. As for how it flies, is it using a variable geometry retractable roof? And does it use an anti-grav to lift off the ground?

This is a cute segment for children. I like the fact that the characters' mouth movement is animated as if there was a hand inside the character's head like a real puppet.

I'd be interesting to see how Gonnigan and Blogg look as live -action Muppets.

I also like the fact that Blogg has butterfly wings.

Gonnigan's my favorite, I mean I like all the characters in this segment, but I have a soft spot for characters who are insecure. It's because I can tell that they have more potential, and I sympathize with them. Take Gonnigan: He's really kind-hearted and smarter than he gives himself credit for. I believe that once he gets more confidence, he'll become a really powerful fairy.

Let me preface that I loved Sesame Street as a kid and I'm thrilled that my 15 month old daughter also likes it (Elmo is tops for her).

Unfortunately AFFS is not making the cut. Honestly, I could change the channel to Noggin or Sprouts or whatever do see something just like AFFS.

If it lasted only a couple minutes I could deal with it but the fact that it lasts around 10 minutes is far too long. For now, I change the channel when it comes on and change it back in time for Elmo's World.

People need to chill out. The reason why this is in CG is because Muppets wouldn't be able to achieve these complex actions so easily. There has always been animation on the show; it's part of the Sesame Street tradition. There will still (and always) be those lovable puppets on Sesame Street.

my daughter absolutely LOVES anything abby cadabby. She squeals and giggles anytime she's watching abby (even more than with elmo) and I buy her everything I can find with abby because it makes her SO happy! Anyway, I have to say that she was thoroughly disappointed in this segment after seeing it the past 2 new episodes (and so was I, honestly). I have faith that you guys will be able to work out all the kinks but this would be sooo much better with muppets and not cgi!

Think about it this way: this segment is CG because it needs to be CG, not because Sesame is trying to save money or get trendy. All of the action in this show would be impossible with real muppets. Going CG opens up completely new avenues closed to real muppets. So think of it as existing side-by-side with real muppets, rather than replacing them, because nobody wants to do that. :-)

This is fantastic! Superb animation, way better than most CG out there today. I disagree with the ludites: this is not a replacement for real muppets, it's another animation style...AND IT WORKS!

@LeaveCookieAlone while there has always been animation on sesame st.. the muppets were never really animated themselves, it was just shorts and music. plus doesn't make sense to animate them for long periods.

PLUS:

-it costs more

-takes more time

-goes against Jim Henson's legacy of bringing PHYSICAL puppets to life - not digitized 3D ones who seem to lack life compared to muppets.

-and looks 10 times uglier (okay that last one is a personal opinion, but still)

Sesame street is going to the dogs. Not muppet dogs, computer-animated dogs. This makes me really annoyed that sesame street is going the way that so many other children's shows have gone, with bright music and unrelatable stupid characters.
