i understand your point; but I'm not looking to play straight carnatic music. Fusion is where I'm looking to get; I don't want to play straight Carnatic music. I'm a metal guitarist; and I would have to focus hard to learn Carnatic music when I can take the time to master my hard rock skills.
Appreciate the comment though and I'll take it to mind the next time I write a Carnatic song
I understand fusion... Your playing sounds like a Metal Guitarist playing on some exotic scales... One of the main differences between carnatic and western music is the concept of Raaga. Just playing the scale dont make it a raaga..So you should try doing a bit of Rock playing and a bit of Raaga playing to get the fusion thingy...Otherwise its just playing rock playing over a different kind of scale...something like Marty Friedman or Shawn Lane
thats a good question to ask considering the style of the song, but i actually dont use any special tunings for it at all. I drop tune down a whole step to D, (low to high DGCFAD) just for the convenience of the low G(the veena is tuned to G) but its not really required to tune down to play this kind of stuff.
Boo ya! Love it!

I think this is quite nice, but somehow nothing sounds carnatic, neither the Veena nor the Guitar.
