I think a lot of people were never taught reverse parking before taking their tests - my parents said it wasn't part of the test when they took theirs 20-30 years ago. I'm still a learner but I find parallel parking the easiest manoeuvre!

@BlondeCatherine91 Hey Catherine, It's so true. My parents didn't have to reverse park either. I guess there wasn't much traffic back then. It's an essential skill.

@BlondeCatherine91 I've just passed my test, and on the day, in the hour lesson before the test, i did each manouevere about 4 times lol. My hate is parallel park, and lo and behold, i got it on my test, thankfully i did it fine. Great feeling when you pass, i've now got to master driving of my own accord :/

I installed this video so that if a crash occurred then I would have evidence. A lady once turned from the 2nd lane in front of me due to a narrow driveway. I swerved to miss but ended up on the wrong side of the road. I was then deemed at fault. She denied doing this and of course no proof. Now there is proof.

Better to swerve and clip her instead of straight t-bone and being in a wheel chair for the rest of my life. I got away with nil injury.

ppl make mistakes now and then though i have seen a person reverse park a huge truck which well just puts me and most drivers to shame

ur rite...wev all been guilty of needing a 2nd go. but this is wayyy beyond it man.... i mean... she shld practice it for atleast like 35 more years to get it rite... prolly half the rest of her life :|

I think alot of people now get there license from a Cereal Box. Because I see people trying to reverse park outside my house and can't do it. I see exactly the same thing.

i totally agree with the licenses.. im 21.. and i seriously can vouch that it was soo easy to get my liscence, they didnt even tell me to do a reverse park in my test. (even though i am good at them, went to driver training days etc etc )

Maybe Australia like states, you give licenses too easy. I got my license with too little experience (just drove couple of hours with friend) and I made several mistakes on the driving test, but they let me pass. and I know friends who were inexperienced and doing worse that this in the video (e.g. driving on curb, cannot park in anyway or direction), and they have only learning permit for one year.

this is so painful for watch (the reverse p.p.), part of me just wanted to look away and part of me wanted to know the outcome. Parking really isn't that hard - it must be a confidence thing perhaps. Reverse in at an angle then turn the wheel - straighten up - and it's done. Sometimes once I'm in I'll do a forward a bit and then reverse a bit - to feel comfortable in the park (esp if the curb isn't parallel) - but one usually at least get's in first - even if crooked.

Same here. Parking isn't that hard although we've all been guilty of needing a 2nd go. I guess to be fair she was in a wagon which is hard to judge, but still at that angle and for that long straight in to the kerb is a lot more than a simple misjudgement.
