This is fantastic. Thanks for posting this , and making everyone aware of good old Bunk. It's a shame that he had to be rediscovered after not playing for so many years. Think of the lost years when he could have been giving us more of his great music.
This was the sound that captured the hearts of three continents and inspired many young musicians in the late 40's /early 50's, including me.I still love this music 60 years later and can't get enough of it.
I also have a lump in my throat....Bunk, George, Alton, Baby, Slow Drag, Lawrence...do we miss you!!!!!!

ive heard many 40's songs and many different types of music from the 40's. in my opinion, this is undoubtedly one of the best songs of the 40's

This recording is just fantastic! It swings like hell, and Bunk's trumpet playing is great despite his age. Is it George Lewis on clarinette?
