He was being ironic, kidology i.e. He's well aware they need to practice, lots and lots to get to the level of perfection they show in their concerts.
He kind of acts that way in interviews, but he's just joking. As you can see, he found his own "we are perfect" so funny he couldn't stop laughing. Plus, in person, he's completely gracious, down-to-earth, and humble. I was really surprised, since I expected fame and adulation to go to their heads at least a little. But in all honesty, they're all sweet, unspoiled kids.
