hi there, im looking at getting my instructor quals in the 12/13 season, but im currently skiing on an old pair of freestyle skis. Currently unsure of which to go for, i have see a few including, the volkl rtm 80, rtm 77, dynastar Outland 80 Pro and this one, i have been advised that a ski between 73 and 85 underfoot would be the best bet as it will be required to ski different terrain, can pick this one up for £375 with bindings, any you recommend?
@TaviniR Firstly find out if there is any type of ski the course is recommending ( radius, piste, all mountain etc). I have tried the volkl RTM 80 and ski reguarly on the RTM 84, I find it a very versatile ski. The 84 still performs pretty well on piste. Good luck with the exams.
@elatemedia thanks for the quick reply, in past seasons they have recommended the volkl ac30, which i believe has been discontinued, but is similar to the rtm 80, they however do not mention much about radius, just an all mountain ski, that will work well in softer conditions, personally i prefer throwing down shorter radius turns, but do enjoy going everywhere, cant beet a bit of exploring.
Hi elatemedia,I am about to start my skiing scholarship to become an instructor and i need a ski,I need something that will go allmountian and in every condition for the season, Do yo have any recomendations. Great videos BTW
@willcock100 Hi there, the first thing you should do is check with the course directors and see if there is any particular type of ski that they recommend for the course (no point in buying an All Mountain ski if you are going to be skiing gates every day). After that, if it's still an all-mountain ski you're after I really rate the Volkl RTM 84, the Stockli Storm Rider VXL is great too (as long as you are a powerful skier) and this one, the Blizzard G-Force Ultrasonic is also a good bet.
