  • @TG4gaeilge i really orla fallon because she plays the harp like and she is a wonderful singer

  • It's from play back, and yet i LOVE this song. I wish i was born Irish.

  • I have loved Celtic Woman since I first heard them years ago and have every single song they sang including their solo albums but I have to say Orla is just too amazing for words. Her voice makes me so proud of my celtic heritage. To those who disliked it I feel sorry for you. @Dslotboss You are SO lucky. If she sang at my wedding I wouldn't be able to stop crying :-D

  • her voice sounds like a flute

  • SO FUCKING BEAUTIFUL!

  • love it was so cool nice and calm with a beat to it really amazed

  • well, truly, this is nothing special. but maybe you are too young and have no idea abou clannad, for instance...

  • She has a beautiful voice very talented! :)

  • @Tka849 Is brea liom Beal Feirsde.

  • this song makes me want to learn Gaelic. She sings it so beautifuly

  • This is a incredibly beautiful Irish song that was sung beautifully by Orla Fallon. Absolutetly wonderful.

  • The Irish language sounds really nice!!!

  • Sometimes their voices are soooo perfect that sometimes I think is playback ..

  • A class of her own - simply the pinnacle of the Celtic Woman ensemble!

  • @Calliuz AGREED.

  • mmm... I don't think the dancing fits her voice. It makes her voice lose power. Would be more mysteriously beautiful if she keeps it centered, as her voice already is.

But that's why I just listen to it without watching! It's still very worth it.

  • There is a mystic quality to her voice that I can not resist. Thank you for posting this wonder full piece of music.

  • Eine wahnsinns Stimme und Ausstrahlung. Mein absolutes Lieblingslied <3 <3 <3..Die welt wird durch so etwas viel Besser :)

  • Most beautiful voice of all time I'm convinced.

  • ceol den scoth (good music) Orla is awesome!!!

  • @belfastireland1 Is breá liom na hÉireann!! [I love Ireland]!!

  • I love this! I used to sing a Peter Paul and Mary version of it to my kids as a lullaby when they were babies, called "Gone the Rainbow". It was similar, but this is so beautiful...I'd never heard it before.

  • I love Orla, my name is Orla also. Her voice is incredible !! Like an angel for sure! I could listen to her all day.

  • dislike??? this?!??!?!?! really!!!!! >:(

  • Purely beautiful voice. One of a kind, the 5 people who disliked this are either deaf, stupid, or have no taste in music.

  • @Celticfan1927 Or are just trolls looking for a reaction to something so obviously perfect.

  • 5 people took their ears off

  • wow, there is a stargate in the background

  • the voice of an angel if an angel had a voice...

  • I love Irland! Orla, Orlagh, Orlaith, Orrla - Irish Celtic Gaelic -Golden Queen

    yep,think she rly is ^^

  • what is the meaning of this song? especially the part about begging bread and parents wishing her dead but also the overall meaning???

  • @danielle1995715 Siuil A Ruin is about a young woman loving a young man. The man goes off in the war to fight and the girl loves him so much she tails the army masking as a "woman of love" so she can follow her loved one. I was forbidden in past times for a woman to make it clear who she loves so her parents would frown heavily upon this. trans: Go, go, go my love

    Go quietly and peacefully

Go to the door and flee with me

And may you go safely my dear

Siuil may also be trans. as "walk"

  • @danielle1995715

Well, she left her parents' house to be with her man, right? And as she doesn't have anything to sell, if she doesn't want to starve to death and she doesn't want to prostitute herself she had to beg for her daily bread.

the Irish are proud, and they cannot bear the thought of having any child of them beg for bread on the wayside. This brought shame to the family and they'd rather have her die than beg.

    That's what I think, anyway ^^

  • my favorite of all!

  • 5 people like Ke$ha.

  • she has the best voice of celtic woman!

  • soothing voice..

  • is this woman for real?=)

  • @luna4ever36 I certainly hope so, since her solo concert is at the top of my to-do list! ;)

I know what you mean - I simply adore her. She's magnificent.

  • @Dslotboss: u are so lucky. having orla sing in my wedding is my lifetime wish. her voice will make the ceremony perfect and memorable.

  • <3 Orla

  • Totally amazing voice. Orla sang at our wedding with her harp. An hour before the ceremony the electricity in the church failed and we were panicking, but Orla filled the church with her hauntingly beautiful voice with no amplification. A truly world class gem in our little country.. Thank you soooooooo much for making our special day truly unforgettable...

  • @Dslotboss Wow, how'd you arrange that??? LUCKY!!!!!!!

  • this is incredible. i didnt think anyone sang like this anymore.

  • I just love her! I hate that she is no longer a part of the Celtic Woman group...her and Meav both. to me they added the more traditional element to the group, and now I feel like all the girls sound the same. i still enjoy them though...I just really wish that Orla and Meav were back.

PS. does anyone know where they are now?

  • @lilyballerina

Orla is solo totally active in Ireland and in the USA.

  • orla is greatness. i love her so much. her voice just makes me so happy. :D

  • If this is not a lipsync, I just found the BEST voice in my life. It even owns Björk in terms of voice. o.o

  • @matheusso1992 I'm afraid it is a lipsync. Listen to the recording and it is identical.

Well, it's probabaly not that actually. It's common for video producers to replace the live audio with the studio version, so the people at the show were lucky enough to actually hear her.

Which is a shame. Orla Fallon, or really any of the women in Celtic Women are plenty talented and put on an excellent live show. Why shouldn't we get to hear them as they really sing?

  • no words can describe how i feel when i listen to this song...but if i must explain, i just feel awe-stricken and inspired, im also thinking of doing things that some ppl have as their greatest fears, just with this song- its just so inviting to me,definitely the best song ive ever heard that isnt English. and with Orla singing makes it all the while better

  • pretty sure this is Irish Gaelic... :(

  • @72026Travis The song is Irish (or Irish Gaelic which is the same) indeed

  • Wow this is absolutely beautiful! Haunting and absolutely bewitching

  • what i'm image from her voice is sort of like the comment below but there is a a difference between his/her and mine. The way mine goes is that these to lovers are together but they a forbidden to see each other. so they run away and live together until one of them passed away and the girl lives alone in her house with her children and that she has to hide her sorrow away from her children so they won't feel the same pain as her.

  • @espiolove06 i mean the comment above from blckkat srry *sweat*

  • ahh... LOVE HER VOICE!!!!! she sings sooo well!!!

  • Superb awesome voice...my heart bumps out about exploding... Una voz del cielo interior que cada no controla y lo revienta desde su ser.. A heavenly inside voice each one has no control and this bursts out your inner being..

  • Si los angeles cantan, cantan como ORLA FALLON.

  • Wonderful!

But the dress does not suit her. It does not do justice to her.

    Thanks for posting!

  • 2:23 - 2:33 If anything could actually be called perfect that moment is this song would be it.

  • I really like the old members of Celtic woman... Don't know why they changed them up... :(

  • @kukuv23 Maeve and Orla wanted to pursue their solo careers. They're still producing beautiful music. But Lynn and Alex are wonderful members of Celtic Woman.

  • so beautiful. she's like an elf. O.O

  • Gaelic sounds so nice.

My only problem is, that i cant understand it.....

  • @captainnemo87 go learn it then! It might take a while but you can do it!!

  • Amazing Voice.

  • I Love singing this song :D If Celtic Woman came here I would drop everything and go see them. Absolutely beautiful.

  • This is lovely

  • Beautiful, she is very much like Enya.

  • Her voice is better than Enya's.

  • makes me want to discover my roots on the emerald isle!!!

  • amazing! I just got reminded of this beautiful song from another celtic voice who covered it on youtube named Sarah English.

    What an amazing song!

  • Beautiful women with beautiful voices.

  • I sang this for my 7th Grade talent show, I had so much fun doing this song. I know I'll never be as good as a singer as her. Loves!

  • @OniExell all it takes is practice ;) She is gifted with the voice of an angel but anyone can improve with time and determination

  • Orla and Chloe have to be the two most beautiful voices i have ever heard

  • Orla's voice is HAUNTINGLY BEAUTIFUL. There is no other adjective for it. It always gives me the goosebumps when I hear it.

    LOVE HER! <3

  • Nice song !

  • [C] Siúil, siúil, siúil a rúin Siúil go sochair agus siúil go ciúin Siúil go doras agus éalaigh liom Is go dté tú mo mhúirnín slán I wish I was on yonder hill 'Tis there I'd sit and cry my fill Until every tear would turn a mill I'll sell my rock, I'll sell my reel I'll sell my only spinning wheel To buy my love a sword of steel [C] I'll dye my petticoats, I'll dye them red And 'round the world I'll beg my bread Until my parents shall wish me dead [C three times]
  • Goddes!!!!!!!!

  • Her voice is truly God given Im convinced!

  • Comment removed

  • Orla should have went solo a looooong time ago. I like Celtic Woman, but she is mature beyond what they could have offered her. Kudos Orla. This song puts me to sleep every night!!!

  • Wide eyed amazement at a song that shakes me to my very soul. WOW!

  • This song shakes my soul. Thank you for sharing. :)

  • cest tres belle

  • Esta canción es hermosa!!

  • I love Celtic music a lot, it really speaks to the soul.

  • soo true

  • i just discovered her today and im in love with this music. Its so pure and beautiful!

  • So beautiful!

  • She was truly born for this. Absolutely anazing everytime!!

  • all these celtic woman singers are incredible

  • i love gaelic i really wanna learn it

  • me 2 :D

  • Irish have a language? I must learn it. My heritage, is irish. Can I have a good website for learning Gaelic? My ancestors are traditional Irish Warriors.

  • not sure what site u go to but u can prolly get a gaelic book in some bookstore. but be sure to get irish gaelic and not scottish gaelic cause theyre a little different.

  • Well anyone whos irish has Irish Warriors as ancestors and of course we have a language, it's one of the world's oldest and most difficult languages. It's very similar looking and sounding to Scots Gaelic. Read up on irish history while you're at it. Ulster Plantations and all that. I think you'll enjoy it (:

  • " It's very similar looking and sounding to Scots Gaelic."

Scots Gaelic is a dialect of Irish Gaelic; the Irish settled Scotland. There is no distinction between an Irishman and a Scot in Gaelic: the word for both is Gael.

  • no one really cares, swedo

  • 2:23 - 2:33 is literally perfection!!!!!!!!!

  • Behold people the most gorgeous voice known to man!!!

  • yes her and Meav ^^

  • I totally agree with you! Her voice literally floats through the air and grabs your heart. She is so glamorous.........

  • quote for truth, black kat

  • her voice is just so beautiful.........i can just imagine children running swiftly through a thick lush northern forest. Running over fallen logs, jumping and laughing with ease. The sound of nature engulfing them as the forest floor crunches beneath them. And there's a waterfall Roaring over a step cliff. Cascading with grace and danger. As the children hang over trees in awe as they witness it's beauty. All this .....just from her voice.....

  • as random and a bit laugh-at-able as that comment was reading through usual idiotic youtube comments, i would have to say i agree with it seems very peaceful :0

  • @BlackxKat13 : I can see that picture in my mind. Beautiful description you gave there :)

  • @BlackxKat13 Hey 13 ! I Think 13 is the luckiest number. You really can envision

beauty. I'll bet you're surrounded by it because of that. May you be, either way.

  • @BlackxKat13 amazing comment, i would never be able to write something as inspiring as that.....no wonder its the highest rated comment

  • @TheChipmunkschipette hey thanks

  • @BlackxKat13

I agree with you 100% her voice is just beautiful , its so hard to describe. The only word I can find to describe her voice is angelic.

  • @BlackxKat13 if that wasn't gotten from a book, that was some incredible creative writing.

  • @Chiofire I didn't get that from any book, and thank you =D

  • Its Gaeilge, but you'd know it as Irish or Gaelic, but Gaeilge is the native pronounciation, like how French is called Francais by them, etc

  • hehe Francais = French people

    And

francais without a capital = rat

    Always amuses me :D

  • what language is this? just wondering.....

  • gaelic. the traditional language of ireland

  • i speak some gaelic

  • really?? AWESOME!!

  • Beautiful

  • this is bloomin amazing

i wish i knew the lyrics tho :(

still a beautiful song :D xox

  • Go watch all of her other songs they are all amazing. She has one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard.

  • you can find the lyrics online, there's plenty of places to get them :) that's how I learned them...

  • Reaching Goosebumps speed Mac5. If it sounds so god on youtube, imagine the awesome surround and deep sound live!!

  • She's perfect.

  • BEST CELTIC SINGER EVER!!!!!

  • I love this group! The director looks like he was in Lord of the Rings...

  • Does anyone has a written English translation of this song?

And would he or she be so kind to share this with me?

If you would give me it, then you would have my gratitude.

  • Go, go, go my love

    Go quietly and peacefully

Go to the door and flee with me

And may you go safely my dear

  • David downes arranged this very well, Orla just needs to stand still and not look like she conducting airplane runway traffic with her arms and stop smiling. Why the hell would you smile with lyrics like those?

  • i agree with the arms, but she doesn't look like she's smiling of her owe accord. I think someone backstage told her "smile more!"

  • lol come again?

  • it reminds me of LOTR...the way she sings.

  • amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This song is really beautiful, and Orla Fallon has one of the finest voices I've ever heard, what's more, she can use her voice like this. This was exceptional.

  • My favorite soloist of Celtic Woman^_^

    Gorgeous

  • Her lover was going to war.........

Beautiful irish song, and a beautiful voice she has! Iam trying to learn this song to sing to my grandchildren. Its very soothing...................................

  • it sux that orla decided to leave celtic woman

  • Very very pretty song!

I'll have to do what you said "artreiver",

and study the source of this song. Thanks!

  • beautiful! absolutely beautiful!

  • toicfaidh ar la!!

  • I love this song!! my grandmother used to sing it to me when i was little :)

  • Saw in your profile you are Canadian. Is your grandmother Canadian as well or?

  • "Johnny Has Gone For a Soldier" has a lot of the same lyrics. Very beautiful. And Orla's voice really gets to me.

  • I'd like to hear this entirely in Irish by her. Even though I dont understand, I really like the language. Makes me wish I knew it.

  • bardzo dobre...

  • This song is absolutely gorgeous...all of the Celtic Women sing with such pure vowels! It's amazing! Not only is the way that she [Orla?] moves with the music beautiful, the way she sings is unique and rare.

  • The best part of her is you can really hear her accent when she sings... the others, you can't really do that...

  • Orla's voice is beautiful...She's my favorite out of the Celtic Woman..though, the others are good too..There's just something about her..the way she sings, the way she looks...She makes it sound so effortless, and light. When you listen to her, it's like walking on air! Loved this song before I heard Orla sing it, but now I love it even more..Orla ROCKS!

  • T_T so beautiful

  • A casual look at Orlagh Fallon and in quick comparison to one of the other beauties on the stage and one could say that she is not beautiful.

But as you look at her movements, her eyes, her long beautiful arms, her slender form, and that classic soft voice and suddenly she transcends the definition of conventional beauty.

She is all at once lovely, feminine, and angelic...a pleasure to both the visual and auditory senses.

    She's my favorite celtic singer.

  • my goodness.. I completely agree. she was my favorite immediately after I heard her verse in the song "Celli"-- her part is like, the only part I ever really hear in the song, although the other singers are fantastic as well, but Orlagh's voice is..rare.

  • voce angelica!

  • My first name is her last :} She makes me so proud to have nothing but pure %100 Irish blood corsing through my veins.♥

  • verry great voice, nice woman but too fast is the song.

  • What is her dialect when she sings in Gaelic?

  • Orla es Fantastica una vos que te lleva a otra epoca.

  • Since her debut with Celtic Woman here, Orlagh has developed a growing and loyal fan base around the world. We are eternally indebted to musical producer David Downes to introducing her to us--for the entire group, to be sure, but most especially, Orlagh Fallon.

  • i love the gealic lanugue. i don't think there is any dialect that sounds more like peoptry.

  • I must share that I do not know much about Celtic culture or Gaelic language because I am not Irish. But can I just say that the Celtic Women, specifically Orla Fallon's voice is one of the most beautiful voices I have EVER heard and I thank the Irish Culture for sharing her with the rest of the world

  • DITTO!

  • This is so beautiful and strong song. I love traditional music of every country, from there come the beautifullest stories.

  • I can understand her I speak gaelic for I am Irish. Not only that but I'm polish, french, german, italian, and seminole native american. I have more Irish blood than I do anything else though anyway she sounds amazing. Beautiful song too.

I also do Irish Dance just thought i'd let ya know ^_^

  • .. yea, kool.

And I'm pure polish but I do Irish Dance and look like a pure Irish girl. lawl.

    whateva xD

  • I've never been to Ireland, don't speak much gaelic, but I'm trying to get my Irish citizenship so I can pick up a hot celtic woman! I'm a craic head, like yall though.

  • whatsa a craic head?

  • craic(i think) is the gaelic term for merriment, usually involving alcohol. 'Craic head' is a joke and a play on the term 'crack head'
