NDSU doesnt suck, they were very talented the last 2 years...but for how many yards they were able to gain and to score virtually no points should tell you they really arent that good. i believe there will be recruiting problems in the future because of all the d1aa schools in the area. none of those schools will take talent away from mn. did beating the gophers cause any recruiting problems? top 20 recruiting class...enough said

In 06 Bison fans hoped for a non-blowout. We matched up well, & played you stronger than some Big 10 teams. We were disappointed in the red zone play. We know that the Gophs were down, but were excited that the mystique of superiority in MN was disproven. SU has had many great football teams, regardless of division. If you never saw one of the DII champ teams, then you don't know. They were machines, & extremely talented. You didn't see a Bison 'A' game at the dome either year.

It's a Bison team in transition to DI-AA. The scholarship level of 65 in the FCS has just begun to kick in for NDSU. In 2006 & 2007 we brought 40-45 scholarship players to the baggie & embarrassed a lot of Gopher fans & players. In 2008 the full scholarship group of 65 will be sophomores. You had 85 scholarship players. I've followed the Gophers for decades. That was a very typical Gophers team, maybe minus one decent running back. That's about all...but your offense was highly ranked.

Watched the Gophs a couple times a year then. You had 2 great RBs. The rest was typical. We played MN with one DB starter (injuries). The Bison gained 585 yards in the 07 game, more than the Gophers gained in 06 & 07 combined. You upset us in 06. You haven't had an outstanding team since Warmath in the 60s. The Bison played so-so both years, especially in the red zone. The Gophs had better stats in the Big 10. We played several teams that were better both years. SDSU was better.
If I were a blue-chip recruit, I wouldn't go to Minnesota. There hasn't been an outstanding team since Warmath. The new stadium might help. The Big Ten has one or two excellent teams each year. I 'do' feel sorry for teams like MN, to have the goal of finishing over .500 in their conference and beating up on a few pre-conference teams. Six wins...and you have a toilet bowl. Actually NDSU, while they were fully D2 was the dominant D2 team or right at the top for many many yrs. They were like the 'USC' of D2 if u will.
